What a week!

Can't believe that it is already Thursday! What a week I had! Dad went in for his surgery on Monday and assuming if all went well, he would be home recovering. Although his surgery went smooth and well, he had some issues with the pain medication which led him to a short stay in the hospital and alot of kooky things going on! OMG, the pain meds that they administered ended up too much for him so they had a tough time waking him up. When they finally gave him an antedote and he woke up, he was totally confused. I sat with him for hours watching him to make sure that he wouldn't pull out his IV (again) and other tubes or get off of the bed. I am so sleep deprived that I've been coming home from the hospital and just going to bed! Which is so unlike me, but I guess I'm trying to set my priorities. Today, Dad came home so I had to make sure that the walkways were clear as he is using a walker to support him. I'm hoping that he will gain more strength in the days to come and that he will be back to his ol' self.
Meanwhile, here's what my work table looks like. My new SU stamps and punches are patiently waiting for me to do something with them like maybe work on my projects for the open house or the Christmas tag class? It will get done! I just want to say thank you to you all again for your kind thoughts and prayers for Dad. Hope I can create something to post tomorrow!

Hi Teri! I am glad that your dad was well enough to come home today. May God continue to watch over him and help him to soon be his 'ol self.

Please take care of yourself. You need to get caught up on your sleep so that you can be sure to not get sick so you could continue to be there for your dad. Of course you can't get sick so that you could continue to make your great cards and projects to post. :)

I can feel what you went through - same thing with my dad - same hospital. They even had to put a nurses aide "on duty" outside his door in case something happened - over medicated him. I hope you're using your family leave to recuperate and take care of your dad too. Take care.

Hi Teri! I'm glad to hear your dad is recovering nicely. I'm sorry he got too much pain medication. I remember I had a patient that just came from surgery and was breathing like 3 breaths a minute. Sheesh, I almost had a heart attack.

Looks like your punches and stamps look lonely! They want you to play with them! LOL!

I hope all is better with Daddy. And I hope that his recovery went smoothly! That happens, more than you think so no need to worry. When my daddy was in the hospital they gave him Ambien to sleep. He too got confused and they had to put him in restraints so he wouldn't pull out stuff! So I totally understand where you're coming from. It happens. Like I said, I hope things are going better now and he's recovering! Hugs, Jenn. If you need anything or just have some questions, you can email and I can give you my number.
