I was meaning to post this card on Thursday, but ran out of time. I've been working so hard trying to catch up with the many, many piles of work on my desk that I come home super exhausted. There's not an ounce of energy left in me to even think about crafting so I didn't force myself for fear that I would get a relapse of my bronchitis.
Anyway, just wanted to share with you a simple birthday card I made for my GF Joann who celebrated her birthday last week. Happy birthday Jo!
I just received my new sizzix Bigz die from the new summer mini catalog called Island Floral; love the large flower. For my card, I cut out 2 flowers and crumpled them up. For the top flower, I used a pencil to curl the edges in. I used the circle stamp from the set called Simple Friendship and punched it out using the 1 3/4 circle. I finally had the nerve to open up the pack of Pink Pirouette CS that I was hording since the retirement of that color, but now that I know that it will be one of the core colors I busted the pack open! LOL, kind of silly huh! I used my embossing folder to add some texture to it. I thought the combination of Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Pink Pirouette blended well.
Here is the inside of the card...

Beautiful card Teri! Luv that flower & embossing folder. I know what you mean about that pink pirouette, I luv it so much & only use it sparingly but if it will be a regular color, I'll use it more often now. Thanks for sharing!
Hope your feeling better.
hugs
Rita

This is beautiful, Teri! I love the sentiment inside!
I really like the color combo that you used on the card. What a neat idea to use a pencil to curl up petals of the flower. :)
