Birthdays are for celebrating!

My friend, Joy celebrated her birthday on Thursday. Here's the "joy" fold card I made for her. I inked up my new Stampendous bee stamps, so cute! I just love these folded cards. Supplies: pretty in pink, chocolate chip. very vanilla and close to cocoa cardstock, Berry Bliss DS paper. Stamps: Happy Birthday from the So Many Scallops SAB set, the small flower is from the Nursery Necessities stamp set (stamped in regal rose). Light pink satin ribbbon. I went into panic mode when I couldn't think of a gift to make for Joy. After work on Wednesday, I ran over to Ross on my way home and browsed the picture frame section. Look what I found! This is a 5X7 photo frame on one side and when you turn it, the other side is a clock! Here's the side I decorated with the rub-ons from the Eastern Elegance set. I have to tell you that I was so upset that I ruined 2 of the Friends rub-ons from the SAB Love & Happiness rub-on set. I think my problem was that I didn't clean the glass before I started rubbing the rub-ons on...(that was a tongue twister!). Anyway, I finally figured out that maybe I should wipe the glass. I used a wet paper towel and after I dried it, the rub-ons worked! Voila! Also, please be careful when handling a piece of glass, I always forget, as I did that night and sliced my pinky a good one, ouch! Nothing that a bandaid and some neosporin couldn't fix!
Here's a close up of the butterflies I made for the top of the frame/clock. For each butterfly, I stamped two images and then used stampin' dimensionals to hold them together. Then, I added a rhinestone to each butterfly. To make each butterfly stand up, I attached a 1/8" strip of paper in between each butterfly and then wound them on the ribbon that I tied to the top of the frame/clock. Well, Happy Birthday, Joy!! Hope it was a special one!
While I was at the florist picking up this cute topiary I ordered, I saw this cute cupcake container in the window. I couldn't resist!! Cupcakes are so cute and for some reason, it's the hottest craze these days. Of course, I HAD to have one of these. Look how cute it is!!
Mochiko thought it looked pretty yummy too. Here she is checking it out. She even nipped at one of the cherries! Yikes!
Thanks for dropping by today. It's Aloha Friday!! Thank goodness, it felt like such a long week!! Tomorrow, Chinese New Year dinner with my sisters and cousin Jeff is back in town!
