Little C's Weekly Challenge #3

Yahoo! It's already week #3 for Little C's Weekly Challenge!! I can't believe how time flies!! This week, the challenge was to create something by altering an item.

Here, I used one of those individual cereal containers. I covered it with the new Designer Paper called Bella Rosa. I just LOVE the soft pink on this pattern. I also used the cute Sock Monkey! Doesn't look too bad in pink, eh? I colored the monkey using Regal Rose and the new Pink Pirouette. That is definately going to be my favorite In Color!! So I had a crazy idea while creating that I was going to put a bling on each of the scallops on this circle. I love how it turned out, don't you?? Here's a close-up of all of the bling. The scallop circle was punched out with my Giga Marvy punch in Regal Rose and the the inner circle was punched out using my super jumbo circle punch in old olive.

Another close-up photo. I wanted you to see the cute little bling I added to the middle of the flower.

I'm still using up the chocolate chip satin ribbon from last year...I really love that ribbon because it matches almost everything!! I made the little tag using the sentiment from the Sock Monkey set and used the word window to punch. For the pink frame around the tag, I hand cut it since there is no punch to frame the word window.
I had so much fun making the cereal container that I decided to do two altered items. This cute container is from the Eclipse mints. I have tons of them because my sister Cara saves them for me figuring that I could do something with them.
The designer paper is a retired SU paper. Real soft in color and reminds me of something oriental which worked out perfect with my cute stamp from Juju's Tiny Treasures (now known as Create in Me stamps). You can buy these "kawaii" (cute) stamps on Jen's Little C's online store.
I used my copic markers to color the image - Hydrangea Blue BV13 and Strong Red R46 and Pinkish White R00 for the skin. Used the SU scallop circle punch in another retired In Color called Vintage Violet and of course, the 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches. Instead of using the white dots with my white gel pen, I copied what Irene did on the scallop circle for one of my birthday cards. I added the pearls from the Pretties Kit to finish off this tin. The hardest part about this was covering the lid. I hate when it doesn't fit perfect, so don't look too close at the lid - haha!!
Be sure to check out what the Little C's DT created for this sketch!

too cute! Michelle bought that sock monkey stamp set and was wondering what to use it for...so you may have given her an idea! I love the idea that you cut out the girl in the circle and use it that way...why don't I ever think of that?

Awesome job meeting the challenge!

I wish I would have seen this a day earlier since I just threw away my daughter's 2 cereal containers, duh, I should have known I could have altered it, but thanks to you, I do now.

Aloha,
Gina

These are just too cute. I love the sock monkey and the stamp that you used from Juju's Tiny Treasures. The sock monkey is on top of my wish list to purchase. Juju's Tiny Treasures always has such cute stamps. I wonder if I have the one that you used.
