Hi There! This blog will no longer have any new post or activities. Please click here to go to my NEW blog, as I've depleted all the memory on this one. I hope to see you there! I will, however, continue to keep this blog up, as there are tons of ideas and tutorials that you may want to search through. When you are done searching here, please head on over to my new blog and visit me there. Aloha, Teri

April Class - Part 2

Here are the rest of the projects that we made at this month's class. This is the "Z" fold card with a simple shaker card in the front. I got this wonderful Z fold card idea from Dawn Griffith over at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts! You can check out her post on Z fold cards here. I will be posting some photos and explain how I made my little shaker in the front of this card. This will especially be of interest to the gals who bought the kits. Here's another view of the card.
And what the card looks like when opened up!
Supplies:
Stamp set: Wagon Full of Fun
Cardstock: regal rose, chocolate chip, whisper white, DSP - Sweet Always
Inks: Memento Black, chocolate chip. Markers - so saffron, regal rose, more mustard, pumpkin pie, blender pen
Accessories: acetate for window, giga scallop square punch, mega square punch, silver bead duo, foam tape, large oval punch, certainly celery twill ribbon (SAB).
This next card is another idea that I "borrowed" from Dawn. I just love this card as it has a secret envelope hidden inside!
Here's the inside of the card! You can put a small note in the envelope, or money! A gift card won't fit in these cute 3X3 envelopes, but you can always adjust the size!
Here's a link to Dawn's mini money envelope video tutorial HERE
Supplies:
Stamp set: Cheap Talk, Great Friend
Cardstock: sahara sand, summer sun, chocolate chip, very vanilla DSP Good Morning Sunshine
Inks: pacific point, kiwi kiss, chocolate chip, summer sun. Markers: summer sun, chocolate chip and black (for eye).
Accessories: mini envelopes (3X3), ticket punch, mini gold brads, 5/8" old olive grosgrain ribbon, 1/4" circle hand punch
Here was our bonus project. We used the new Exclusive SU Sizzix matchbox die. I love this die!
Here's what it looks like when you slide the cover open.
Very cool. I want to share with you that if you are getting frustrated because sometimes the score lines don't show really well, you will need to make a shim and use a crease pad. I made my shim cutting a 12X12 cardstock in half and adhering them together. You will need to add additional cardstock for the length as the 12" isn't long enough. With the shim and crease pad (don't forget that you don't use one of the cutting plates when you use the crease pad), the score markings really show and it makes it easier to fold the box. That was just my experience. I did check with SU and was told that all Big Shot machines are not the same (huh??) and that some people might need different shims (add more paper, less paper?) I guess whatever works for you is what she was trying to tell me.
Supplies (for matchbox)
Stamp set: Forest Friends
Cardstock: close to cocoa, baja breeze, chocolate chip, whisper white DSP Parisian Breeze specialty paper
Inks: chocolate chip, old olive
Accessories: Matchbox XL Sizzix Die, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, dimensionals.
Thanks for spending a part of your Tuesday with me!! Our May class will be a really neat pop up scrapbook. May is scrapbooking month, did you know that?

Wow - thanks for the tips on using the Big Shot! I didn't know they were all different. Hmmm. A pop up scrapbook, huh? I'll definitely be at that class! After my shaker card experience, I can't wait to see what the pop up scrapbook will be like! Thanks, Teri!
