3 3/4" X 12" orange cardstock (box)
5" X 5 3/4" black cardstock (drawer)
3 1/4" X 4 1/2" purple cardstock
2 3/4" X 3 5/8" green cardstock
2 1/2" X 3 3/8" white cardstock
2 3/4" X 3 1/2" black cardstock
2 1/2" X 3 1/4" white cardstock
4 flourish punchouts
1 3/4" black circle
1/2" white circles (2)
1/4" black circles (2)
2 1/2" black grosgrain ribbon (1/4")
Strong adhesive
With the purple cardstock, cut out the scalloped rectangle using the largest of the scalloped nesties. Layer the green cardstock (2 3/4" X 3 5/8") and white cardstock (2 1/2" X 3 3/8") and stamp your sentiment. Set aside.
Layer the white cardstock (2 1/2" X 3 1/4") on top of the black cardstock (2 3/4" X 3 1/2") and stamp the sentiment.
The card/box. Using your orange cardstock 3 3/4" X 12", score at 3", 4 1/4", 7 1/4", 8 1/2" and 11 1/2". Put a piece of adhesive along the skinny strip after the 11 1/2" score line as shown below.
Oops! a little mixed up here. Sorry for the screw up. For some reason, I can't move my photos around like I used to, so let's just create the spider now...put the orange cardstock on the side for now...
Here are the pieces you will need to create the spider. One 1 3/4" black circle, Four flourish punches, two 1/2" white circles, two 1/4" black circles.
Here are the pieces you will need to create the spider. One 1 3/4" black circle, Four flourish punches, two 1/2" white circles, two 1/4" black circles.
I wanted to show you the punch I used and what I did to the punched flourish. Here's the punch and the punched out flourish.
I trimmed off the bottom swirl so it will look like the swirl on the left. I adhered the four "legs" to the back of the 1 3/4" circle (spider body) and adhered the 1/4" circles to the 1/2" circles to make the eyes...here's the finished spider.
Okay...back to the box! Sorry about that. I guess Mr. Spider was so excited to make his debut - haha! You are going to join the end that you applied the adhesive to make the box part.
This is what worked best for me. I lined up the end with the adheive to the score line. The flap on your left is what's going to be your "card". It will make alot of sense to you to follow this tutorial with your pieces already cut and scored, promise!
This is what it will look like when you're done.
This is a view so you can see that little strip that had the adhesive. I wanted you to see the placement. You can also see the top flap folded down.
The "drawer". Using your black cardstock (5" X 5 3/4"), score 1" on all four sides. Cut from the edge to the score line on all four corners as shown. Add adhesive to each corner as shown.
Assemble your drawer.
This is the finished drawer.
Slide your drawer into the box as shown.
Place adhesive on the top of the flap as shown below.
OOPS! I GOOFED AGAIN! YOU WILL NEED TO ADD A PIECE OF RIBBON UNDER THE CARD TOP...PLEASE SEE PHOTO AFTER THIS ONE FOR INSTRUCTION.... After you add the ribbon, you can adhere the card top.
Here is how you add the ribbon under the card top...as you can see from my photo, I totally forgot to add this on! The ribbon is to assist you to lift the flap open to see the message is optional. I like it with the ribbon.
Add the spider on the top card and it's all done! Not too bad huh?!
