A card of Aloha!

I made this card for my friend Marit who lives all the way in Norway! It's brrrrrrrrr cold right now, lots and lots of snow!! I thought this card would make it a little warmer since it's full of love, sunshine and aloha! Image by MAMBI, DP by American Crafts, Kiwi Kiss CS, 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and "thank you" by SU. Oh yea, the dew drops from Little C's! Drop by Little C's this weekend! There's a SALE going on!!

Valentine Treat

Valentine's Day is right around the corner! I bought these sweetheart candies with the intention of putting them as treats for the drink holders, but then changed my mind at the last minute and used M&M's instead. So....what do you do with all of these boxes of candies?? I decided to make these cute treat boxes. They are so simple to make! I'll do a simple easy peasy tutorial sometime soon...anyone interested? This project is not a new one so you may have already seen it or made one already!!This is what it looks like when you pull the treat up using the ribbon.
Do you like this Anya stamp? Got this from my GF Joy...another sweet rak from my sweet friend!!! Thank you so much Joy!! This is my first Anya stamp so I gotta perfect the coloring!
You know since it's been chilly here in the islands, some furry friend of mine seems to have taken a liking to my bed!!! Nolan captured some shots of her.
Getting comfy...

I think she thinks she owns my bed!!
Happy Aloha Friday! I can't complain, I had a short week. Still need to rest as my cold is still hanging around. Riding the bus home today was awful because the AC was on full blast...brrrrrr...Candy winner announced tomorrow!!

More digi cards you asked for!

Thank you to all who commented and for those who wanted to see more of those owl cards, here are more! I loved using these digi designs by Nancy Kubo from Little Dreamer Designs...

I used various DSP's pretty much using up some scraps and left overs from my class kits. I think they turned out pretty cute :)
Tomorrow is Aloha Friday! Grab an extra blanket tonight, it's gonna be cold! Brrrrrrrr!!

Creating with digital images

I recently got to play with the digital images from Little Dreamer Designs. These cute images were created by Nancy Kubo. I just love this Hula girl. The owl images are also super cute! I made a total of 30 cards for
Aunty Lynn. She was the cafeteria manager over at Enchanted Lake Elementary School and also owner (with hubby Uncle Mel) of the Keiki Palaka Band. Nolan was a member of the KPB when he was in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and at ELES. Anyway, we attended Auny Lynn's retirement party and since she is an owl collector, I thought that this was perfect. Her invitation said "no gifts" but local style, you just have to bring something, right?! So I thought that she could use some cards to write thank you's to her friends. Here's what I came up with (well, one of the cards).
I loved the way the cards turned out. I made them all different, but I thought I'd only share two instead of boring you with all of them! Leave me a comment if you'd like to see more!
It's still freezing here on my side of the island. I'm going to take a nap to get rid of this headache! Hope you are all well and had time to sneak in a little crafting.

Don't hate me because I'm spoiled...

I really don't know why I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends! I got this beautiful decorated cookie jar with cookies (they were yummy!) from my friend Carole L. All of the detail on the jar and I just love the gray kitty on the cover!! Thank you so much Carole! Thank you for attending my classes! Every month when Denise attends my class, she always brings me a little gift. How sweet is that?? Thank you Denise. I just love my Hello Kitty treat!!
I haven't been keeping up-to-date with my rak posting, because I keep getting spoiled with so many gifts. Look how terrible I was that I didn't post these wonderful goodies from my girlfriend Joy.
She made me this Anya angel card using her copic pens! Yay for Copics! I bought her an early bday gift of copics since she didn't have any. Now, she's at the point of no return - hehe...you did an awesome job coloring Joy!! Love the glitter too!
Loved the Hello Kitty she used to decorate this clear pail filled with ribbons and an owl stamp...love them all!!! I see that this cute HK die is getting alot of mileage :) Super cute!
On one of our lunch breaks, we went to Cute Stuff. Joy was real quiet in the store and I later found out that she was absorbing it all in. More like overwhelmed with all of the stamps! She bought these cute images by Create in Me (formerly Juju's) and these micro beads! I was the lucky recepient of this awesome shaker checkbook!! Love this!!
Here's a close up of the shaker...I love the way the beads swish when I move the book back 'n forth...my new toy :)
Here's a card I made for Joy. Got these cute owl stamps by Hero Arts over at Fisher Hawaii when they had HA stamps for 40% off!

All CS by SU (old olive, chocolate chip), stitched ribbon by SU, scallop circle punch and circle punch are by Marvy.
Thanks for checking in today. I'm really am slow in getting back into the swing of things and with it being super cold here (for us Hawaii peeps), I caught a cold. Stuff nose and migrane too. Ugh! I hate being sick!!! Stay warm and healthy my friends! More soon!

I actually won!

blog candy from Jean over at Dandelion Designs! Isn't this such a cute image of Maddy? This is a notebook/calendar holder and it fits right in my purse! Look at how cute Jean wrapped this up...love it! Thank you so much, Jean!!! If you like designs like Maddy shown here, hop on over to Jean's blog to see more of her awesome creations! Lots of patterns to download too and you can always catch her doing make 'n takes at various stores on the island! Here's my thank you card to Jean for the candy...I used the top note die and my CB embossing folder. Also used one of Dandelion Design stamps...isn't the puppy sweet with the cupcake?
Thanks again Jean!

1st week candy winnah!

One of the reasons why I don't give away candy too often is that I stress out selecting one winner...but, I put all the names in a bowl and had my son pick out a winner. Week 1 winner is EUNICE! Congrats Eunice!! I'll send out your stamp set on Monday! Had to mention that I have never had so many people tell me that their birthday fell on the day that I was drawing a winner!! So, if you all know me, I will send a little something to the birthday girls...Jamee, Bora and Jenny V. Girls, send me an email with your address so I can send you something to wish you a happy, happy birthday!!
I will be posting week #2 stamp set tomorrow! If you didn't win this week, please feel free to enter again for week #2's stamp set!

January Aloha Rak from Felicia!

This month, I was partnered with Felicia Escalante all the way from Germany! Felicia is from the USA but her family is currently living overseas in Germany! Wow! Look at all of the goodies I got! The candy was so yummy too!! (my family and I enjoyed every last crumb!) Felicia was so sweet, she emailed me to introduce herself and then we both exchanged our favorites - color, what we liked in crafts, etc. That was so fun! This was the best part - making a new friend! Oh!, BTW, please pop on over to Felicia's blog called Stamp Happy Felicia to send a hug her way! You can find her blog HERE!I just LOVE this card...super cute!! I did not buy this stamp set, but it is so adorable! I actually thought that SU retired this set. Felicia, I just love all of the details on your card!
BIG MAHALO (thank you) to you for your kindness and generosity! Hey! if you are interested in swapping raks each month, be sure to check out Tracy's Happy Place, cuz that's the place where Tracy makes happy things happen! Monthly posts for sign ups on Tracy's blog...check it out!
Thanks again Felicia! Be sure to stay in touch with me!

Class dates for 2009 and proposed projects

Whew! This was a difficult list for me to write because I had a hard time selecting projects for the classes. But I did and here are the class dates for 2009 and the proposed projects. Both dates and projects are subject to change with notice, of course! FYI, the classes will be held on a Saturday and Sunday on the same weekend from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at my home. I know that this planning for the whole year will be helpful to me. I hope it will make it a little easier when planning your calendar of activities as well. Here we go!

February 7 and 8 - Cards using Sizzix Top Note die, shaker envelope cards (still trying to see if I can figure out another fun card and possibly a mini scrapbook using the top note die)
March 7 and 8 - Boxes! 2-4-6-8 box with a twist, new origami box and boxes using the sizzix XL dies!
April 4 and 5 - Money cards, tri-fold cards
May 2 and 3 - Pop up scrapbook
June 6 and 7 - Birthday Bash (gift bag, tissue, tag, card, gift card holder)
July 4 and 5 - Thinking of You, Thank You, Sympathy cards
August 1 and 2 - Pull out scrapbook
September 3 and 4 - 50 Christmas Tags!
October 3 and 4 - Calendar for 2010
November 8 and 9 - Giftcard holders
December 5 - Holiday celebration

Some other important info:
* I will not be taking any reservations in advance.
* Announcements for the class will be at least a couple of weeks prior to the class.
* Classes will be limited to 10 seats per class (with the exception of the 50 christmas tag class).
* Class kits will be available by mail. There will be a charge for the shipping of the kit.
* Class kits fee should be mailed to me.
* You must bring your basic tool kit to the class (adhesive, scissors, cutter and whatever else you use while crafting).
* Colors will sometimes vary in kits especially when using DSP. You will get to select your kit upon arrival to the class and selection will be based on a first come, first served basis.
* If you are unable to attend the class, your kit will be mailed to you or you may pick it up.

I look forward to seeing you at one of my classes this year! Based on browsing through the new Spring Summer Idea Book & Catalog, I just know that we will be having a fabulous time creating this year!
Mahalo for your support and interest in my classes!

February Class Sneak Peek!

Sorry this post comes so late! I was trying to have it ready to go for today, but today (Friday) is almost over!!! Happy Friday anyway!
Can you believe that February is right around the corner?? I'm still working on the rest of the projects, but needed to announce the class for February already as I am moving the classes from the end of the month, to the beginning of the month for reasons I disclosed in my earlier post. My February classes will be held on Saturday, February 7 and Sunday February 8 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at my home. This month, we will be making projects using the exclusive SU Sizzix die called Top Note. I just love this die! We will also be making a couple of cool shaker cards using a easy technique created by my creative friend and former island girl, Maria Bell. Here is a sneak peek of the cards I made so far using the Top Note die. I'm also trying to work on a couple of other projects, but let's just say that it will be a surprise if I can make it happen :) You know the deal about me doing my best work when the pressure is on, right??
If you are interested in attending this month's class, please RSVP via email. Seats are reserved on a first come, first served basis, so email me ASAP as I will only have 10 seats per class. Deadline to reserve your seat will be Tuesday, February 3rd and is open to my downline as well. Kits only will be available and you can also email me to reserve a kit. Please note that this year, I will not be able to stamp the images for you on the kits but will be emailing you photos and additional instructions, links etc. for you to complete the project. You can substitute a different stamp set if you do not own the one that we used for the class. By not taking the extra time to stamp the kits by mail, it will allow me more time to plan the next class since these classes come up so quickly! You will receive all of the materials to complete your project all cut out and separated by project. I will also include a supply list.
Email confirmation with more details will be sent once you RSVP. I'm so excited to share these really fun projects with you! Looking forward to February 7 and 8!
Have a crafty weekend!

January 2009 Class Projects - The cards!

I had so much fun creating these cards. I wanted to keep it simple, but sometimes, that's the hardest to design because you want to keep adding stuff! We made 5 cards to go in one of the sides of the drink holders. I just love these notecards because you can order 20 notecards with envelopes for only $5.95 (from SU). You get the same smoothness as with the whisper white cardstock. Anyway, I'm starting with my favorite of the 5 cards. This card was actually created last. I guess saved the best for last? Although everyone said it was a cupcake, it actually is a bon bon, but cupcake could work too! I used SU's 1 3/8" circle punch in close to cocoa, added a cute real red heart using our new Heart to Heart punch. The paper cup was cut out of regal rose cardstock. I used my white gel pen to add the little dots. I'm gonna try to see if I can upload a pattern for it, but if not, I'll be happy to send you a pattern for it if you email me to request for one. This card was finished off with a 5/8" real red grosgrain ribbon. This card is so sweet! Here's a close up of the "cupcake"
The simpliest of the cards...only stamping. I'm thinking a embossed frame around it might have looked elegant too.
Used the left over Candy Lane DSP for the strip.
The splash of color was added using a sponge dauber (pink pirouette).
Here's the inside.
The background was stamped using a stamp from the Much Love stamp set. This set, the heart to heart punch and Candy Lane DSP is available through the end of January in our Love Bundle.
I used the curly label punch and the spiral punch to add some interest. Regal rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.
Here's a close-up.
I'll be posting the clips tomorrow! Happy Thursday! I need to work on my class projects for February and March already!! Gonna be posting the schedule tomorrow too! Hope you are having a fabulous week!

January 2009 class projects - drink holder

Thank you to all who attended my drink holder and Valentine card class this past weekend. I met a few new people and we had so much fun! I'll be posting the drink holder photos today and the cards will follow in another post. Here's a photo of the projects we made. Many versions of this drink holder is out there in blogland, but I followed some easy instructions from Michelle's tutorial. You can see Michelle's tutorial right HERE. Thanks, Michelle for the awesome tutorial! Be sure to check out her blog for fantastic projects!
The photos to follow are close-ups of the different sides of the holder.

I just love this new DSP called Candy Lane. We used stamps from three sets - A Happy Heart, Much Love and Love Owl-ways.
I can't wait to share the cards with you!
I will be releasing real soon the dates for my classes for the year! Yes, you heard correct - the year! Of course, subject to change with notice! I'm also trying to designate projects for each month so you have a general idea of what we will be doing. This will help both me and you in planning out your busy schedules!

Love Owl-ways

Quick post tonight! I really need to get off of the computer to finalize my kits for tomorrow's class!!
I saw this adorable card on Diana Gibbs' blog using the cutest Anya stamp and the thing that caught my eye was the use of the top note die. I love how she used two different colors, I just had to try it! I used the cute owl from the Love Owl-ways stamp set. My coloring wasn't so hot on this owl as I was rushing to finish this card so I could leave to go to an afternoon gathering with my sweet friend, Dawne. Cheryl was there and so was Nicky! Thanks Dawne for hosting our gathering today, had SO much fun!!
Other supplies: Sizzix top note die, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip CS, 5/8" Regal Rose GG ribbon, Marvy circle punches and copic markers.
Thanks for coming by tonight...can't wait to see everyone tomorrow at my class!
Stay tuned for some blog candy coming up!!

I never win...

so I was so excited when I got an email from Toni over at Whimsical Thoughts...Wow!, me?? Holy smokes!! This was one of the awesome blog candy she was giving away. This cute tote was jammed with all kinds of goodies, check it out! If you've never visited Toni's blog, why wait? Stop on over to see her creations! Tell her I sent ya there! Thank you SO MUCH Toni! You guys know how much I love my Starbucks Frappuccino Mocha, right? Every morning, that's my drink! Well, after the box was emptied, I tossed it on the side temporarily and look who decided it was a good place to take a nap! I'd say, it was a snug fit, don't you think??
Here's she is "oozing" out of the box. How can this be comfortable???
Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Aloha Friday!! Have a crafty weekend especially if you are coming over to make the drink holder and cards!!
