Birthday Hugs & Wishes

Happy Friday! It felt like such a loonnnnggg week for me! here is the final Kitty I cut out with my Cricut (Hello Kitty Greeting cartridge) and the 3M fully adhesive craft paper. I cut this Kitty's head at 3 1/2" - I think it's a pretty good size to work with. I used the Kitty head on a birthday card for a friend's birthday card as she is celebrating today! I wanted to make a special card, so I followed the template and instructions by Brenda. We all call Brenda the "punch art queen" for her awesome talent creating the neatest projects using punches. Want to be inspired? Check out Brenda's blog HERE. Thanks Brenda for the template and instructions. I loved making this card! It's Brenda's version of the Double Display card. Here's the card closed. And here is the card opened. The DSP is by SU. I used my Three Flower Punch by SU and added a bling in the center. I popped it up with stampin' dimensionals. I had a "stray" pink square nestie already cut out and sitting on my table, so it was perfect!
I'm so glad it's Friday! I'll be finishing up mail order class kits this weekend and working on sompe projects for my BBF Tamiko. Hope you find time to craft this weekend!

Hello Kitty Folder

Are you getting tired of my HK projects yet? Here's another project that I created using one of the Hello Kitty designs that I cut out on Monday. I really like cutting out these Hello Kitty pieces with the Cricut and I really enjoy using my Cricut when the pieces cut out perfect. I notice that the smaller pieces get all scrunched up which frustrates me so I thought that I would cut out some HK stuff LARGE. I've never cut out one of these HK heads before, so I'm thinking Large, hmm, 4 1/2" should be a good size and yikes! it came out pretty BIG! I didn't know what to do with it. Then the light bulb went on - I bought a plastic folder from Fisher Hawaii and created something similar to a scrapbook page using this large HK head, it turned out pretty good. This folder was neat because you can slip the page right in the front pocket.
I also wanted to show you that the adhesive craft paper is not only for cutting using the cricut. You can also use it with Sizzix dies. I cut out a couple of the daisies and it came out perfect! Here's how the page slides into the front of the folder.
A close up of the flower...
All other DSP are by SU except for the glitter DP I used to cut out Emiko's name. I used my Frankie Quickutz dies to cut out the name and my Martha Stewart heart border punch.
I hope to post another HK project tomorrow! I'm excited that so many island girls have said that they went down to Fisher Hawaii to buy this 3M craft paper. You will have alot of fun using this new craft paper. Having the adhesive on it is so convenient. I'm hoping to see some amazing projects soon in blogland! Happy Thursday!

More Fun with my 3M Craft Paper and Hello Kitty!

Here's another project that I created with my new 3M fully adhesive craft paper. I made another Hello Kitty using my Cricut. I still can't believe how easy it is to use because I think half of the battle when creating with tiny pieces is getting the adhesives on it and sticking it to your project. I love this peel and stick. Since Easter is right around the corner, I decided to make a basket using my HK creation. This basket is called the Pillow Box Bucket and it uses the SU pillow box die. You can download the instructions HERE - got this from Splitcoast Stampers. Here's another view of my bucket. I used a fairly new MS punch that I got from J's. All cardstock and DSP used for my bucket is by SU.
Come back tomorrow to see another fun project using my craft paper! I hope you were able to run down to pick up your paper from FH. I'm now thinking that I need to get other colors before the sale ends. Maybe I'll see you there!

Love that 3M Craft Paper and Hello Kitty!

I've been meaning to create with my 3M full adhesive craft paper for a month now, but let's just say that I've had some detours in my plans. So last night, I told myself that I just had to get down to business and create with my 3M craft paper and my Cricut!
Once I got started, I had so much fun. I knew that I wanted to use this adhesive paper to make my Hello Kitty projects because there are so many l.ittle pieces. Let me tell you guys that I just LOVE that this paper already has the adhesive on it because after you cut it out with your cricut, you just peel and stick! No mess, no fuss - promise!
Here's the card that I made. I used the 3M craft paper for every part of this card including the background. The dotted background was created by placing a piece of the 3M craft paper in my Sizzix embossing folder and then gently sanding it with a sanding block. Since this craft paper has white core, you can see the white after I sanded it. I love the look! This craft paper is also good to use with your nesties. I used my Blossom nestie to cut out the flower background behind the Kitty. I also cut out the ovals with my oval punches. The weight of this paper is a good one because it's so easy to use with the cricut, embossing, punches, nesties. Here's a closer look...
So I bet you all NEED this paper now, right? Good news! It's on sale right now til the end of the month at FISHER HAWAII. It's available at both stores, but the Cooke Street store has a bigger selection. This craft paper is located in the scrapbook section right above those 12X12 paper racks in boxes...you can't miss it! The best part is the price. It on sale for only $5.29/pack of 6 sheets. Because I knew that I was going to be making a bunch of Hello Kitty projects, I purchased a pack of white, black, pink... If you can't make up your mind on what color, they also come in assorted colors by color groups (pastel, bold, earth, regal). Here's what the paper packs looks like...
Oh! I found another cool adhesive too. Remember the tape runner by creative memories? This one is just like it! Of course, it's by 3M. I was lucky to get one to try out and I love it! I'll get a closer shot of the tape and why I love it in another post.
I'll be posting more cute Hello Kitty projects this week. I was having so much fun cutting out HK's that I cut out a bunch of other Hello Kitty images using my craft paper. The hardest part is figuring out what to put them on! See you soon!

Birthday Cards

Celebrated a couple of birthdays today! Here are the cards I made using my Pure Innocence images that I bought a while ago. This first card is for my GF Linda. I used some DP from a 6X6 stack that I had in my cabinet for a long time! Oval nesties and bling. This card actually came together right before I left to catch the bus...I work better under pressure! LOL! I made this next card for my GF Joy. For the side border, I used my MS heart border punch, rectangle nesties and a flower with brad. Sentiment was typed on the computer. Images were colored with copics.
Hoping to finish up with my cleaning and have creating with my cricut and the 3M full adhesive craft paper today. I'm planning on making our favorite Kitty! Hope you are getting some crafting in your weekend! Thank you for your comments and for making me smile!

Wedding Card

Happy Friday! These short weeks are the hardest at work. Making up for the day off we had on Monday. TGIF!
Last week, my niece got married in front of the Judge. The Judge just happens to be the hubby of one of the attorneys that I work with. (Congrats Jayme and Ryan!) so here is the card I made for them. Simple and sweet, just like the newlyweds. I love this stamp by Stampendous, not much coloring to do, which is good for me! I used Bermuda Bay cardstock and some silver paper I had in my stash. The punched side border is SU's eyelet border punch, one of my faves! Many of you asked about those plastic tubes that I used for my Valentine Treats. I got them from a local business called Islands Marketing located at 1218 Kaumualii Street across from Honolulu Community College. The tubes cost 70 cents each. Islands Marketing carries tons of wonderful items including all sizes of cellophane bags and sealers. Check them out if you are in the area.

Haven't participated in awards and such for a long time! I'm so terrible when it comes to posting awards. But, got one from a sweet friend, Brenda. Thanks for thinking of me! 2 - I wake up at 3 a.m. every weekday
3 - My blankets have to be neat and straight every night. I cannot sleep with bumpy blankets (wierd!)
4 - I used to be a preschool teacher

Valentine Treats

Before I share with you the Valentine Treats that I made for my friends at the HSFCU, I wanted to post this super duper cute rak that I got from 1luvnmama...I had problems loading this cuteness in my last post. Mama makes some of the cutest things! Loving the image by Pure Innocence too! Thanks mama! I know I posted a single clear tube with treats in it before, but wanted to share this photo with you. I made 13 of these for my friends at the HSFCU for Valentine's Day. I filled them with frosted animal cookies and also chocolate covered sunflower seeds. My GF Charlotte gave me some of the cutest bags at 1"X8" and my GF wini and Dad filled them up for me! They fit perfect in this tube.
The stamp set I [heart] hearts set (117010 wood, 118571 cling) is still available for purchase and $2.00 will be supporting our efforts to help the Haitian Diaster. I love it that the hearts in this set match with our punches. I love options! And don't forget, our sale-a-bration promotion is still going on! Don't miss your chance to earn FREE products for every $50 purchase (before tax and shipping). I want to THANK all of you who have made purchase through my SU website as well as ordering through me. Your business is very much appreciated.
I hope to be posting my list of classes for the remainder of the year soon. It's been a rough start of the year and is taking me longer than I expected to accomplish all that I need to do, so thanks for your patience!
Posting for this week will be sketchy...more unexpected things have come up, including a broken water heater and refrigerator! Boohoo! I am still cleaning up and organizing my craft room so Charlotte, I will post photos when it is all perfect and before I start working and mess it up again! LOL!
Thanks for your visit today and for supporting me through my blogging journey!

I'm So Spoiled!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Happy belated Valentine's Day and belated Chinese New Year wishes too!
I am so thankful for wonderful friends! Over the past month, I have been showered with so many beautiful and thoughtful raks! I wish I had the time to make things in return. I try, but there are so many things on my "To Do" list that I can't even begin to think adding more things to do! I'm also so ashamed that I didn't make the time to take photos of the raks so I can properly say thank you to everyone! So I am dedicating this post to my sweet friends and for their wonderful raks.
The Mama did it again...she makes the sweetest gifts! Thanks Mama for always thinking of me and making me smile! Don't know how you do it!
Sideview of this cuteness.
OOPS! Technical difficulty! I will reload the photo of this AWESOME rak from mama...sorry for the inconvenience!!

Here's a pic of more sweet Valentine goodies from Jenny, Janis, Joy and Joni. Thanks so much ladies!
One more! Sweet chocolate treat holder from my BFF Linda. Loving the huge stash of my favorite sweet - chocolate!! Thanks Linda for this cute treat!
Here's what the treat holder looks like when you open it up to take out the chocolate! Yummm!
THANKS to all of my friends for spoiling me with your talent and kindness. Brings tears to my eyes and gives me chicken skin!
I'm hoping that I find the time to do posts for the whole week. I have so much to share with you but no time to prepare my posts!! I'm in the process of organizing my craftroom (again). Seems like I can never get all of my supplies back to their proper homes!
I'm planning on working on my cricut projects using my 3M fully adhesive craft paper...I'm making Hello Kitty! Come back to see the finished projects k?? Have a great day!

Sweet Valentine Treat Bag

My GF Cheryl and I finally were able to meet up for lunch after almost 2 months! We usually meet up once a week if time allows as it's kind of a good stress reliever to eat lunch with a GF - you know... eat, talk, shop! Anyway, so many things going on for both of us that we weren't able to hook up! Here's a little treat I made for Cheryl for Valentine's Day. I used my SU Sizzix XL die called Fancy Favor (115965) and thought I'd try to use those cute sweet treat cups (116802) in the window. I didn't put any edible treats in there cuz I couldn't stand to think that the treat bag would be destroyed just to get to the treats! The treats were in the bag! DSP is Patterns Designer Series Paper in Rose Red (116162). I filled the treat cup with dew drops (thanks Barbie!). The image is from the cute stamp set called Fox and Friends(117020 wood, 118565 cling), so cute! I also used my new small heart punch - love the new style of punch. Flat, easy to store and use! You can check out these items in the Mini Occasions Catalog (link on my sidebar). It's a great time to shop too! Earn cool FREE items for your qualifying order of $50!
Here is closer view.
And a closer view of the sweet treats cup.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I'm getting ready for my first class of the year! Oh boy, out of practice! If you signed up for my classes this weekend, I'll see you soon!! I'll be posting my gifts for the CU girls tomorrow!

March 2010 One Card Swap Sign up NOW!

Yup! you read right! I thought that I would start earlier than ever now since it takes me a while to confirm the sign ups, match the partners and send email. I wish you knew how long it takes me to get my act together!! So, if you would like to be a player in the March 2010 OCS, please leave a comment on this post. Reminder - returning players can just leave me a comment here unless your information has changed. New players, please leave me a comment and then send me an email with your mailing address and blog address. DO NOT LEAVE PERSONAL INFORMATION ON MY BLOG. My email is on the sidebar. Here's what I received for my January OCS from Amy. I got not only one, but two!! These were card fronts so all I'll have to do is adhere them to cardstock and I've got two thank you notes ready to use! Thank you Amy! Looking forward to seeing lots of players. Since we've been doing the anything goes OCS for a year now, anyone for some changes?? For example, I could select a specific color to make your card...just a thought. Let me know what you think!
One more thing, I am going to be creating a profile for everyone that signs up with the partners you have so I can search when I'm trying to partner everyone up. After one year, it gets kind of confusing! LOL!! Thanks for supporting this monthly one card swap. Without players, there'd be no swap!

Second project from the workshop

My hostess requested that we make a girly giftcard holder, so of course, I chose to work with the color pink. I used Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink cardstock for the main parts of the card. I had to feature the cute owl from the set Fox and Friends (#118565 cling, #117020 wood). This set is one that SU offers you to purchase them in either cling or wood mounted. I bought the cling set. The sentiment is from a set called Hugs & Wishes, which I just realized is not in the current catalog (sorry!)The DSP used was a scrap piece from the Sending Love Specialty set. I love the glitter on one side of the DSP. It's so popular that it is on backorder!! So if you ordered this paper from me, SU expects to ship starting early March, eeks! I also used the Pretty in Pink 5/8" satin ribbon. I love satin ribbon! And last but not least, I used the fun Scallop Trim Border punch on an old olive cardstock strip. This cute border punch can be yours FREE with a $50 qualifying order during our sale-a-bration promotion!
Here is what the inside of the giftcard holder looks like:
Simple to make. Cut your cardstock 4 1/4" X 11". Score 1" and 6" and that's it! I'd secure the little pocket for the gift card with brads on each side so it won't pop open (when using adhesive).
Thanks for visiting today!

February OCS partners have been sent out!

Just wanted to let you all know that the partners for the February OCS have been sent out. It's been a year since we've been doing the monthly one card swap, can you believe that? I just wanted to let you all know that although I keep a list of the monthly swappers (who swapped with who), sometimes you might end up with someone you swapped with before. If this is a problem for you and would like me to find you a new partner, or if I can't find you a partner, I will be your partner.
I am thinking of a better system to keep track of your partners so that you will be able to meet new people. I appreciate your patience.
Thanks to all of you who continue to participate in this monthly swap. I look forward to seeing all of the beautiful cards you make for your one card swaps!

Workshop project

It's been a while since I did a workshop. We're talking years! I had a request to give a workshop this past Saturday and I have to admit, it was alot of fun! So nice to get to meet new people who are excited about crafting. Here is one of the projects that we made. The hostess requested a Valentine's project using the matchbox die so here's what I came up with. Simple yet cute. I featured the new pinking hearts border punch (#117649), the small heart punch (#117193) and the cling stamp set Well Scripted (#118601 cling, #117072 wood). Cardstock colors: pretty in pink, real red and soft suede.
Hope you are all enjoying your Superbowl Sunday! I'm not a football fan, so I spent the whole day cleaning the house - so much fun! (NOT!) I will be announcing the winner of the blog candy tomorrow! I totally forgot to put a deadline on it, but it seems like the commenting stopped, so I'll have a winner for you tomorrow and a second project to share from my workshop.

Valentine Sweets

Happy Aloha Friday! I can't believe that I made it through the week. Still feeling kind of junky, so I guess I better rest and take it easy. I'll follow the fine example that Mochiko is showing us here. Animals know how to relax, don't you think?? It's cold for me here in Hawaii...I feel that chill in the air, but I'm sure nothing compared to you people dealing with the snow!I wanted to share with you today what I received from my DL Charlotte. Aren't these the cutest? I love these thin cello bags, look how perfect these m&m's fit in there, love it! Thanks so much Charlotte!
Thank goodness today is a furlough day and I'll be hanging out at home working on some projects for a workshop that I'll be doing this Saturday. I'll be sure to post the photos of the projects. They will be Valentine's Day projects, a matchbox and a card...see you tomorrow!

Using some of my new SU products and lovin' them!

I finally got around to ordering some of the new products from the Occasions Mini Catalog and earned some cool FREE sale-a-bration products too!! Did you know that from now until March 31, 2010, for every $50 of products you purchase (before tax and shipping costs) you can earn a FREE product from the SAB catty?? That's right! FREE!! My most favorite promotion of the year!! Check out the Occasions Mini catalog and the SAB catty by clicking on the link on my side bar or email me with any questions you may have about it! You can also order online on my SU website 24/7. Check out that link on my side bar too!
There's been a bunch of birthdays that we celebrated just in the last month, so here is what I came up with in wrapping up a mini milk carton die (from SU). Yup! that's what is in this gift here. Here's the front cover. I used the new Sweet Pea felt flowers (117266), love these, so cute! Can you see the cute little border on the bottom of the cover?? You can earn this border punch FREE as one of the SAB selections!! Love this too! Here's a side view with the flap opened.
A view of my built in card. I'm using the new set Well Scripted (117072 wood, 118601 clear) - so pretty yeah?
Here's a close up of the felt flowers...
I used two 1/2: pink epoxy brads (117271)and wrapped silver cord around it as my closure. Those brads are so cool and I love the squishy feel of it! The sentiment is from A Little Birthday Cheer (120242) got it FREE as a SAB selection too! I pnnched out the sentiment using my modern label punch (116630). BTW, the image is from an older stamp set called Pun Fun. It's still available in the idea book and catalog (115054).
This was something I just made up as I went along...I had no clue where I was going with this, but I'm happy with the result! Thanks for stopping by today. Reading all of your sweet comments are helping me get back into the crafty mood...
It's Furlough Friday tomorrow...getting together with a couple of friends to craft...see you soon!
