Cute Valentine's Day Gift

This is one of my favorite gifts to make for Valentine's Day. It's such a useful gift and inexpensive too!
I learned how to make this about 8 years ago when I first joined Stampin' Up! Went to a meeting and this was the make and take that we did. Isn't it cute?? It's a roll of TP rolled up in tissue paper that we rollered. I used a retired roller because I didn't think ahead - it would've looked cute using the new I {love} love jumbo roller. Finished it off with some satin red ribbon and a tag with a cute poem. I also used my Pinking Hearts Border punch (117649) - love those tiny hearts! Also used my Small Heart Punch (117193); used a dimensional to pop it on a 3/4" circle. Here's the poem in case you'd like to make a few Valentine's gifts.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. I'm starting to get a scratchy throat so am thinking I'd best end here and get right to bed to sleep it off! Don't want to get sick!! The OCS is closed and I will be posting the list of players tomorrow!

Making a Difference

Haitian Disaster Relief
Stampin′ Up! demonstrators have a long history of making a difference in the lives of others--especially when disaster strikes and the need is greatest. So it was not surprising that so many demonstrators have contacted SU asking what the plans are for helping to provide relief for those who continue to suffer from the effects of the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12.
Want to know how you can help? Check out this sweet set in the Occasions Mini Catalog on Page 14. This set is called I {Heart} Hearts.
From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set ordered will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Product Name: I {Heart} Hearts - clear mount (block D recommended)
Item # 118571 $18.95
Product Name: I {Heart} Hearts – wood-mount
Item # 117010 $26.95
I love that Stampin' Up! always helps when there is a disaster or a need. I just received my set last night and I couldn't wait to ink it up! Here's what I created with it especially since Valentine's Day is right around the corner!
I was even more excited to learn that our full heart punch (113693) worked perfect! I added the small heart (117193) to it. Isn't it so cute? I'm lovin' the new flat punches too! So easy to use and store.
BTW, if you would like to make a difference and order this sweet stamp set, please log into my SU website and shop now! Remember, you will not only be purchasing a super cute stamp set, but you will be making a donation for the Haitian Disaster Relief Fund. Won't you help? I know you will love using this set.
Thanks for your visit today and all of your sweet comments. Don't forget to come back because I can't wait to share with you a cute and fun little Valentine's gift!

Something Sweet for You

It's been a while since I last gave up some blog candy, so thought it was a great time for me to offer up something sweet to thank you all for your love and support. I love celebrating birthdays! Bought this fun set from my GF Jean who is a Close to My Heart Consultant. I bought this set and then stashed it away and only found it while I was major reorganizing! I decided to give this up to some lucky person. How do you win?? Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite birthday cake is. My all time favorite cake was a cake that my mom used to bake from scratch - a yellow cake with peach frosting. It was the yummiest!! The closest store bought cake is the Peach Bavarian cake from Zippy's...I think I have mom's recipe and just might have to look for it! Blog candy comments will close on Sunday, January 31st midnight (Hawaii time)...Winner to be announce the following week. After that, another candy will be unveiled Good luck! Looking forward to hearing from you!

The last of those beautiful handmade cards

Here are the last of the beautiful handmade cards that I wanted to share with you. I love them all! When I look at them, they bring me a sense of peace and joy knowing that the cards were lovingly made. Mom would've loved seeing all of them. I miss her so much!

Thanks to all of you for your continued support. It really helps ease the pain that I'm feeling. I've been trying to get online to blurf a bit to see what you all have been up to. I know that my mojo will return once I'm ready. I can't wait! I wanted to thank you all for being patient while I spend a little time grieving here. I miss creating and sharing with you. Please come back tomorrow for my first sweet candy! Big hugs to you!

Whew! That's alot of players! Thanks ladies for keeping up with my one card swap!! Without you playing, no swap!!
BTW, just a reminder, if you cannot fulfill your one card swap obligation, please be courteous by emailing your partner and me to let us know. I know that we all have busy lives, and certainly things can just pop up and happen, but if you sign up for the swap and cannot do it, informing your partner is a good idea. I have participated in a bunch of swaps in the past and after I had fulfilled my obligation, was left hanging out to dry, receiving nothing, not even a courtesy email. It's one of the worse feelings you can feel (in the swap world at least) having all that anticipation waiting for your swap and then receive nothing. For me, it was a huge let down. I don't want that to happen here, okay?
Anyway, I just wanted to mention this because in the past, I have had "small kine" mentions about this. So ladies, let's be good partners, k?? THANKS SO MUCH!!

Sharing more beautiful cards

Today I am sharing more of the beautiful handmade cards with you. I'm still looking for my mojo. It's around somewhere! I started to clean up my craft room big time and boy, do I have alot of stuff in there that I don't remember why I bought it or how I got it! I'm sure some of you feel the same about your rooms too. I'm really trying hard to promote my Stampin' Up! business because I really do love the products! I get side track alot with all of the many cute products that are hitting the market, but I always come back to my SU products. I will be posting every now and then something I may have made with other products, or share with you a good sale (for the local girls) but for the most part, I am trying my best to stick with my business. Thanks to all of the island girls for the huge support. As of today, MY FEBRUARY 13 CLASS IS FULL! I actually am allowing the bulk of the people to come on that day since Feb 14 is probably reserved for special dates and such since it's Valentine's Day! Be prepared to love your neighbor on the 13th! Enough yakking and on to those beautiful cards. I seemed to have lost my mojo, but not my skill for chatting!

One more day of lovely cards to share and then I'll be announcing some fun blog candy! It's been a while since I've had any sweets to share!

Looking for my mojo

Can't believe that it's been a week since I've logged in...I guess my reasons are valid for not creating much since last week was mom's service and there is still so much to do here at home. Over the weekend, everyone seemed to have gotten sick - Dad and Nolan have bronchitis. We even made a trip to the ER for Nolan for his asthma - Did anyone notice the thick vog??? I'm forcing myself to go to bed early so I don't get sick. **sigh** I haven't even gone back to work yet.
Anyway, tonight, I will start sharing with you some of the beautiful handmade cards that my family received from sweet friends. I will be showing you cards over the next three days since I received so many! Enjoy! A couple of reasons why I want to share with you, is to show my appreciation for the beautiful handmade cards and to give you some ideas for sympathy cards. Thanks to all of you who took the time to make such special cards!

More cards tomorrow! Many hugs to all of you for the love and support shown to my family and me.

Sweet Card from Brenda

I received this sweet card from my GF Brenda. I met Brenda and her beautiful family during the holidays when they came to help deliver the gifts to our friends at the women's home in Manoa. Thank you Brenda! The card is beautiful and it sure did bring alot of love and smiles to my face!
I will have another sweet gift and card to share with you tomorrow! Thank you friends, for cheering me up at this difficult time. Tomorrow is mom's service and I know it will be such a bittersweet day for me. Just knowing that you all have our family in your thoughts and prayers gives me the best feeling - thank you from the bottom of my heart!

First Class of 2010

My first class of 2010 will be held on Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14 from 1:00 - 4:00. Yes, I know that February 14 is Valentine's Day and also Chinese New Year, but those were the only two days left on my calendar! I will also be working on a tentative craft class schedule for the year (subject to change). I was able to get into the mood to create two samples for the class. This first project is a box using the top note die for the top and bottom covers. I got the pattern/instructions from my sweet friend Rita (Thanks Rita!!). She made me a sample and all so it was easy to recreate this sweet box using my SU products. I just love the new DSP from the Occasions Mini catalog. This DSP is called Sending Love Specialty paper. I just LOVE all of the glitter on these papers!! The butterflies are cut from the Bigz sizzix die called Beautiful Butterflies.
Here's what it looks like inside the box.
I know that just about everyone has made the easel card. I've had my eye on the easel card for some time now, but never had the time to make one! So, the second project will be making a easel card/calendar. We will also be stamping on cute hugs and kisses notes and putting them in our new glassine envelopes. My supply is on order, so that's why I don't have a sample yet!
I will be cutting only 25 kits. If you would like to attend this class, please RSVP to me via email. Please also specify what day you would like to attend. The cost for this class is still only $20 for attendees. Kits "to go" will be included in the 25 kits cut. The price of the Kits To Go will now cost $30 which will include the cost for shipping and stamping and payment must be received before shipping of the kit. The price increase was necessary this year, as it takes quite a bit of time to stamp all of those pieces in the kits. If you would rather stamp your own images, the price for the kit will be $25 (cost for kit and shipping). If you are ordering a kit to go, please specify what option you prefer. Thank you so much for your understanding and I look forward to seeing you at class!

January OCS partners

Just wanted to let you know that the emails have been sent for the January OCS partners so if you did not get an email and you signed up, please send me an email to let me know! Thank you!

3M self-adhesive craft paper is in the house!

No photo to share of any project just yet, but I just wanted to share with you that the shipment of the 3M self-adhesive craft paper is IN at Fisher Hawaii (Cooke Street location). Some of you asked me to inform you when the shipment arrived, so I thought I'd post to let you know. I recently received a bunch of samples of each color group but since taking care of mom was my priority, I didn't have a chance to create anything yet. But I am so excited to get started because now I have more colors to play with!
So, to make it easier for you to find in the store, I checked it out and the papers are located on the craft row, all in boxes by color groups and on top of the 12X12 papers. You can't miss them. I have to add that this paper is a nice weight, easy to cut with the Cricut (as it is in endorsed by Cricut) and is really nice that it is peel and stick. I will work on samples to share with you right here!

Thoughtful Raks

Real quick today...I'm off to work for a few hours to check up on my piles and piles of work.
I love this cute mini notebook that I got from my GF Joy She surprised me with this mini book and mini pen AND the new GF Suzy stamp! Thanks so much Joy!! I can't wait to get back into the groove and ink her up! Check out Joy's blog - she's been on a double shaker kick and I gotta say, they are all fabulous!! I remember her telling me that she's never going to make those because they are too difficult to make, ha! Love what you've been making and am glad that you took the plunge to make them! I can't wait to use my new 2010 calendar that I received from my GF Fran. Fran and I have been friends for a long time, she's my inspiration for scrapbooking. She makes the most beautiful scrapbook pages! Check out her blog HERE. Thanks Fran!!
I'm trying to work on my projects for the first class of the year. My classes will start in February and I'm looking at the 13th and 14th. I know it will be too late to make Valentine's Day cards and stuff, but I may just surprise you with a Valentine bonus! I'll post what we will be making a soon as I finish making the samples...Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Giftcard holder insert

I didn't forget about the measurements for that insert to go in the giftcard holder. Here's a photo of the GCH inside and the insert that I made for Christmas. This GCH was one that we made in class last year (sounds so long ago!). Here are the measurements to make this giftcard insert: teal cardstock 3 3/4"X 5 3/4", white cardstock 3 1/4" X 4 1/4". I used the slit punch on both bottom corners and that's it!
Thinking of making a bunch of birthday giftcard holders so I can use them throughout the year. Happy Monday! I'll be sharing some wonderful cards that I received for the holidays...I am so way behind!

Birthday Card for Jodi

Before I share my card today, I'd like to take the time to THANK YOU all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers for our family. All of your love will carry us through this adjustment period.
Last night, we celebrated my niece, Jodi's birthday. I didn't have time to make her a card til this morning though, so I will give it to her today. Here's a photo of the cousins, my son hates to take photos now. Could it be that I took too many of him as a small child??Here's my card for Jodi. Her favorite color is purple so I had to incorporate the color in somehow. I used this DSP from a retired Level 3 hostess kit, but it was appropriate with all of the happy birthday and cakes on it. The image is my favorite monkey friend (Jodi likes monkeys too). I think my mojo is not quite up to par because I was not exactly thrilled with the outcome of this card, but for now, this will have to do. I need to find my mojo, so if you see it somewhere, can you send it back to me?I made this card using the origami fold technique. To find out how to make this card, you can check out the tutorial on my sidebar. Here's the inside of the card.
Have a wonderful, relaxing Sunday. Tomorrow, I will share with you the measurements for the insert of that giftcard holder that I promised you a while back.
Also, for those of you who requested the SAB catty and the current mini catty, I will get those out to you this week. Our sale-a-bration has started and I'm so excited to get started so I can receive those FREE stamp sets! Can't wait to get the new punch too!! Check it out now on my sidebar - click on the sale-a-bration catalog to be linked to the catalog for viewing!
One more thing...I will be emailing you the partners for the January OCS today!

Today

Today I told myself that it's time to get back into a normal routine. Well, at least to make a good attempt to do so, because Mom would have wanted me to do all of things that make me happy.
Today, I made a list of all of the things I wanted and needed to do and prioritized them.
Today, when I opened my eyes, I could hear birds chirping and see the bright sun and I just know that it's going to be a beautiful day.
Today, I am ready to share with you some sad news. My dear, sweet Mom, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 6th.
Today is a beautiful day...live each day to the fullest. Love each other unconditionally and always forgive each other.
I Love You Mom.

Fox and Friends

Aloha Monday! Today, I wanted to share with you one of the new cling stamp sets that I just had to have. This set is called Fox and Friends and is available in both cling and wood (#118565 cling, #117020 wood). I just had to order this set when I saw this cute little monkey. This is how the new cling stamps look like after you adhere the sticker to it. This side sticks to your acrylic block and the best part is that you can see the image as it would stamp so you know where to place your image when stamping. Here's a card that I made using my little monkey image and also a sentiment from the set called Whimsical Words. Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa CS and I just had to use the new DSP called Sending Love (#117153) and finishing off with one of my favorite ribbon.
Here's a photo of how the new cling sets come. It comes in a slim DVD case which is really nice and easy to store. I still love all of my wood stamps though.
I've already had some emails requesting the new Occasions Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalog - there are no fees for these catalogs. Tomorrow is the day that you can start ordering from both catalogs so if you'd like to view it right now, just click on the catties on my side bar and they will link you to them. Have a great day everyone!

New Year, New Cling Stamps from Stampin' Up

Over the past few years, there has been enormous demand from demonstrators and customers alike for a line of repositionable clear-mount stamps. Well, you asked for it, and now you have it!
Starting with stamps in the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog and 2010 Sale-A-Bration brochure, Stampin' Up! now offers our exclusive stamp art in both traditional wood-mount, and the new clear-mount options.
Our new clear-mount rubber stamps are the result of extensive research with the intent to maintain the very best image quality in the stamping industry, while at the same time offering the ease-of-use and storability inherent in repositionable clear-mount rubber stamps.
Clear-Mount Rubber Stamp Features
* Nine different sizes of clear blocks available individually or as a discounted bundle.
* Blocks have ergonomic grooves on all four sides for easy grip and traditional wood-mount feel.
* Stamps and blocks are durable and easy to clean with your Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist.
* Optional image labels on stamp backs let you decide if you want to see the image through the block or not.
* Tight die-cutting for easy image positioning.
* Large clear blocks can be used to create collages or spell words with alphabet sets.
* Stamps store easily in standard, DVD-type cases with artwork on front and spine, making organization easy.
It may be a bit of an adjustment for some of you working with wood mounted to unmounted. But they stamp the same as wood! You have to try it to believe it.
For those of you who have ordered from me in the past and are on my mailing list, you will be receiving the new Occasions mini catalog as well as the sale-a-bration catalogs in the mail shortly, if you haven't already. If you are not on my mailing list and would like to receive either or both of the catalogs, please send me an email requesting them. I will be more than happy to mail them to you. If you can't wait and want to view the catalogs NOW, both catalogs are available for viewing on my side bar.
Sale-a-bration is one of the best times to purchase SU products! For each purchase of $50, you will receive one free stamp set for free! This year, one of the new punches will be offered as one of the free product. More on Sale-a-bration to come!
