A RAK from Colleen!

Wow! All I can say is Wow! What did I do to deserve such a sweet care package in my mailbox? Look at all of these cool goodies! I love the rub-ons, ribbon, stamps and ATC's!! This rak came from my friend, Colleen, who lives in California. Colleen has been purchasing my class kits and we've become good friends.
I love this image by Juju's Tiny Treasures (now called Create in Me). This image kind of reminds me of Colleen's little girl Kylie... I love how she used the raffia instead of ribbon, good idea! Here are a couple of cards that Colleen shared with me that she made for her swaps.

Thank you, Colleen! for your generous rak! I loved them all and it sure made my day after me getting sick, kind of perked me up, even if it was just for a little bit. Thank you for thinking of me. Thanks for visiting me today, time for me to go back to rest!

E Komo Mai...

Today was the day of my open house. I was really close in cancelling this event because I was soooooooo tired and haven't really caught up with my sleep, but decided to have it anyway! I'm so glad that I did because we all had a great time! Here are the projects that we did for our FREE make 'n take. The first project (my personal favorite) is this cute basket using the SU exclusive XL Sizzix die called Basket & Blooms. I knew I HAD to have this die! Used the new Bella Rose DSP. It took me a while to figure out what to do with all of the little pieces that came on the die and after standing around staring at it, it finally came together! Here's another basket using the same paper series - I made this basket to send to my friend Colleen (Hi Colleen!...this is for you!) As a special treat, I wrapped up little incentive stamps to give to each person who attended the open house and they could put it in their basket.
Here is project #2. A simple tag that used the new In Color cardstock called Pacific Point. This tag featured the new scallop edge punch and the new curly punch and stamp set.

The next project was a card that my GF Wini demoed for us featuring the watercolor crayons direct coloring on the stamp and then spritzing it with water. She got the idea from a make 'n take at the rubber stamp expo. Thanks Wini for demoing for us! Everyone loved this cute card!

Here's a close up of the little treats that I wrapped up for all attendees. I love the new cut and emboss special SU 20th Anniversary die that is exclusive and a limited edition.

That's it for tonight! I'm hoping that I can catch some zzzz' s early so that I can have a early start tomorrow. Can you believe that I still have not cleaned up my craft room like I said I was?? I didn't even finish writing my thank you notes either (but I will!!) I'll have help tomorrow as my sister and nieces have "volunteered" to help me get organized. Thank goodness for family :) Hopefully, I will have some time to post a baby card that I made for my niece to give to a co-worker and also a surprise RAK I got in my mailbox today.

What a week!

Can't believe that it is already Thursday! What a week I had! Dad went in for his surgery on Monday and assuming if all went well, he would be home recovering. Although his surgery went smooth and well, he had some issues with the pain medication which led him to a short stay in the hospital and alot of kooky things going on! OMG, the pain meds that they administered ended up too much for him so they had a tough time waking him up. When they finally gave him an antedote and he woke up, he was totally confused. I sat with him for hours watching him to make sure that he wouldn't pull out his IV (again) and other tubes or get off of the bed. I am so sleep deprived that I've been coming home from the hospital and just going to bed! Which is so unlike me, but I guess I'm trying to set my priorities. Today, Dad came home so I had to make sure that the walkways were clear as he is using a walker to support him. I'm hoping that he will gain more strength in the days to come and that he will be back to his ol' self.
Meanwhile, here's what my work table looks like. My new SU stamps and punches are patiently waiting for me to do something with them like maybe work on my projects for the open house or the Christmas tag class? It will get done! I just want to say thank you to you all again for your kind thoughts and prayers for Dad. Hope I can create something to post tomorrow!

This one got lost

How did this card escape from being posted?? Got this sweet birthday card from Deb of Stampin on the Mountain. Thanks Deb! I love the Hawaiian look to this card! Cute stamp by TAC, and I just love the ribbon too! This next card is from my friend Cami whom I went to college with. Those were the days! We had so much fun and even got student jobs together. Well, I am happy to share that we are still really good friends today! Cami is one of my sweetest friends. She's someone that I admire because she is always so thoughtful and full of love. We don't get to see each other as often as we would like to, but we both keep each other in our thoughts daily. Thank you Cami! I loved the card, the sweet treats and my coffee habit :)

Don't forget, if you have some free time this weekend (August 30 from 10 AM), come on over to my house for a cozy open house to reveal the new Stampin' Up! Fall Winter idea book & catalog and some of the new products! We will be doing two FREE make 'n takes and I'd love to see you! Please email me if you plan to come so I can make sure that I have a kit for you!

Little C's Weekly Challenge #6

Here's the sketch for Little C's Weekly Challenge #6. This sketch was taken from the August/September issue of Paper Crafts magazine. I gotta confess, I went to the bookstore today to take a peek at the samples that was made using this sketch because I was kind of stumped. Here's what I came up with...
My card turned out to be a 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" square for the base (Tempting Turquoise) and then I used a 5 1/4" X 5 1/4" square layer (chocolate chip). The flower image is one that I never inked up and bought from Little C's store a while back. Not sure if there are any left, but I love this set! It's called Doodle Bloom (a clear stamp set). I cut the flower out after I colored with my copic markers, glittered the center of the flower with my dazzling diamonds. For the sentiment, I used the main word "Wonderful" from SU's set called Wonderful Favorites.
In the lower right circle, I stamped the word "Friend" also from the Wonderful Favorites stamp set. I used my white gel pen to make dots around the circles just to add some interest. A simple and fun card to make. It took me a while to get this card going, so I guess it was really a challenge for me!
I can't wait to see what the other DT girls put together for this sketch. I'll be checking them out and you can too!

Yesterday was such an exhausting day. I spent the whole day out of the house as we left at 6:00 AM to head to the hospital to take Dad in for his surgery. While Dad was having his surgery, my sister, Cara, and I had the most wonderful sister time having coffee and scones and catching up on sisterly things (sorry Cheryl, too bad you had to work!). I always get good advice from Cara as she is an expert in sharing her much valued opinions with me. After coffee, we browsed Pearlridge (shopping center) while we waited for the call from the hospital. Dad's surgery was a success, but because of some discomfort, they decided to keep him overnight for some observations. Thank you to all of you who left me comforting messages, it means alot to me and Dad.
I was a good girl the other night and finished my thank you cards...so I'll be writing my notes and sending them out by the end of the week! I just love the new scallop punch... Thanks for checking out my sketch challenge today!
Hugs,
Teri (hey! what happened to my siggy??)

Check out what my friend Adrienne made!

Happy Monday! You know the saying "it's a small world", well one day I get this phone call from my friend Adrienne, who just so happens to work in the same department as me and she tells me that she was trying to figure out party favors for her son's grad party and she stumbled upon my blog! She wasn't sure if that was me or what...shocked!? Nah! Well, last year, I helped my girlfriend Cami make favors for her son Kody's grad party...all 200 of them and they turned out pretty cool because we used his photo to form the favor. I learned this sour cream container using a photo from Brian at Photocraft but have also seen versions using designer paper as well.
Adrianne did a fabulous job in creating a photo for the favor. This is the front of the favor. Whoa, her son, Grant, is one handsome buggah yeah? Here's the other side of the favor. Just loved the way she incorporated his grad pics on here too!
Close-up of the tag she made. OMG girl, so professional! I just love the way you did this tag! Maybe Adrienne will be going into business as her relatives are consulting her to make favors for a birthday party now. Good luck!
Thanks for coming by today! Dad is having his gall bladder surgery this morning but he is ready as ever. He wanted to know if he could have a video done of the surgery so he could watch it after it was all pau (done). Keep him in your thoughts today...I'll be back tomorrow with Little C's weekly chalenge #6!

Making the time

to make my cards to Thank everyone for the many birthday wishes. I am so bad in keeping track of where all of my time goes. Something has to give, right? Well, I decided that today is the day that I'm gonna finish making all of these thank you cards which is long over due! Keeping it simple, I decided to use the sock monkey image without any coloring. I saw this on someone's blog, where they used white craft ink to stamp the monkey on black cardstock. Here I am using the new in color, Pink Pirouette cardstock. Image is stamped using another in color, Riding Hood Red. Scalloped border in kiwi kiss, with white gel dots on the scallops. The 5/8" grosgrain ribbon is regal rose. The must have bling on the flower :)
Isn't this a wierd pic of Mochiko? She is lying on my floor in the craft room which leads into the living room area. So the gray area on the bottom of the pic is my carpet in the living room and she decided to rest her chin on the ledge. Nolan took this pic cuz he knew I would crack up at this...she is a clown!
Hope you all have time to get in a little stamping today! After I finish my cards, I'm planning to take apart my craft room because I can't find anything!! Frustrates me so much, which means it's time to clean up!! Mahalo for popping in my blog today!
For those of you who asked, Dad is having his gall bladder surgery early tomorrow morning so I will be leaving before the mad traffic starts. I heard that UH starts tomorrow too, so even more the reason to leave the house early! Keep Dad in your thoughts and I'll keep you all up-to-date.

My friends are so good to me

I gotta say that I have the bestest friends. Not because they give me RAKS, but just because they are always thoughtful in everything they do! Here are more BRAKS that I received. Sorry if it's a little late, I'm running behind in my posting! Thank you to all of you!!!
From Linda. I've had my eyes on these ribbons for a while, you are a mind reader! The card is so sweet too!
From Denise. The card is soooo cute! and I just love the hand made jewelry too!
From Rita. Thank you Rita! Love the dew drops, never owned any! Now I have a bag of my own!! To see this card IRL is something else, very sparkly and so detailed!!

From Eunice. I just love cards made by Eunice!! She is so talented. This turtle card is just too cute, so much detail!
Here's the inside of the card...I found a goodie inside too!

From my DL Kelly T. Kelly just came home from the SU convention in Utah. I can't believe that she gave me her convention bag. I love it!! Also
got the SU Statement of the Heart stamp in the special pouch and the 20th Anniversary charm...Ooh-la-la!

Here's a close up of the charm.

This was Kelly's first convention and I didn't realize that when she asked me how many swaps I made when I went to convention that she was going to do the same. I was crazy back then, and if I go to convention again, I could not, or would not make the 600 swaps that I made. Too heavy! So you wanna guess how many swaps Kelly made?? Uh-huh...600! Yikes!! You go girl! And what a surprise! She gave me this whole whopping box of 300 swaps!! I still haven't had the time to look at every one, but I will! In fact, they will be on display at my open house on Saturday, August 30th so if you'd like a peek at them, come on over! THANK you, Kelly!! This was such a surprise!

Time to get off the computer and drag my behind to work. I'm sleep deprived today as I had to take my son to the ER last night. He's resting and at home. Daddy will take him for a check up today. More tomorrow!
A shout out to Wanda...if you are reading today, can you email me? I lost your email address (duh!)...thanks!

Little C's Weekly Challenge #5

Wow! This week's challenge was really a challenge. In planning this card, I had to use a little more brain juice to get my card going! haha!! This week, the challenge was to do a "wrap around" card. This card, to me, is like having a theme and the message "wraps around" the card. I've never made one like this before but it was fun and I'm okay with how my card turned out. I used this cute stamp by Rachel Ann Miller called "Hoo Hoo There". Got this from Little C's I'm not great in coloring with my copics, but I do love their blender pen. It really lightens up the color where you want it to. The friends stamp is an old one by Printworks. Got this from Cute Stuff way back when...Lianne might still have some on the shelf? The bottom design is the design that is carried throughout all sides of the card. Here I used the flower, dotted circle and the solid circle from my SU set called Enjoy Every Moment. Added some bling which I got for my bday from my GF Joy (thanks joy, I luv this!)
Here's the inside of the card. I carried the same border (minus the solid dot) but added the sentiment "Yoo Hoo" which I got from my mini Sparkle Clear set from Hero Arts called Yoo Hoo Owl. Wondering why I have a DSP band going across?? Well, I forgot that when you color with copics, it goes through the paper...duh! So had to cover up the backsides of the images I colored. I suppose I could've done the card over but I ran out of time! (shh, don't tell anyone my secret!)
Here's the back of the card. I carried the same border to the back of the card, minus the bling...(I suppose I could've added some here). Isn't the owl cute?! I love it that she has eye lashes. She is from a clear stamp set, which I cannot remember from which company! (Maybe Stampendous) Got this from Cute Stuff.
Here's a view of the front and back of the card...See how it "wraps around"?Join us with this challenge! Want to see more? Check out the other Little C's DT members who have their take on this wrap around card.
Be sure to check out Jen's blog Pieces of Me for all the details on her weekly challenges!
Have a great Tuesday! And for sure, tomorrow I have some wonderful braks to share. Note to Kelly T., your five minutes of fame is coming up!

The Cat's Pajamas

Good Monday morning! Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! I was MIA but working at the show with my girlfriend who owns Berry Sweet Bath & Body. It was so nice to meet 2 blog readers, Lisa D. and Heidi! Hi Guys!! Thank you so much for stopping in and surprising me with a personal hello! It really meant alot to me to meet you in person!! I am exhausted but gotta get back into the swing. So....here are a couple more cards I made using my Lingerie stamps by PCS. You can find these cute stamps at Little C's. Close-up of these cute slippers. I added magenta stickles and also some stickles along the edge of the circle.
I made it a 3X3 card so it could fit into my little pizza box. If you'd like to make one of these cute and easy boxes, see the tutorial on my side bar.

I really liked the way this card turned out because I had no idea where I was going when I was trying to use this image.

Close up of this image. Coming up tomorrow, more braks from my sweet friends! Have a great day!
