Five Days of Relaxation and Fun!

I'm back!! I had a wonderful time visiting cousin Pam and her family in San Francisco. I even made new friends too! I must say that I'm happy to be back in the warm weather - such an island girl. Here are a couple of pictures when we went to Pier 39 and our chinatown excursion. I miss this little Princess! (Alyssa)

By the way, I am downloading all of the grad and dad card submittals and will randomly select a winner. Thanks to all who participated! I can't wait to give away the sweets! All entries will be receiving something from me, so make sure you sent me your snail mail address! More soon!

Something **sweet** for you!

Aaah... I've been sooooo busy that I haven't had time to post anything about winning something sweet! Remember when I did some major cleaning in my room?? Well, I found some neat stuff and I want to "share my aloha with you". I decorated this neat stationery box using the "Do the Hula" stamp set by SU. This set is on the retired list, so if you love this set, be sure to order it before July 1st. I'm gonna keep my set because it's so rare to find a nice set using island motifs. This is what's inside of this box of goodies:one set of Making Memories alphabet rub ons, one package of Making Memories baby buttons, one dozen glossy tags, one container of assorted decorative brads, one package of Doodle Bug jellishments (birthday boy) and one dozen glossy frame fronts. Wow! what do you guys think??I'm giving you guys a bunch of time to create and post here because I'm leaving for San Fran on Friday, May 25 and not returning home til Wednesday, May 30...The winner will be selected by random when I return home.First, you need to sign my guest book and become a part of my "Blog Ohana" (family), it's fun to see who's visited my blog! I love it when others share their **aloha** with me and signing my guest book will bring lots of aloha to me and my blog. And, since it's Graduation time and Father's Day right around the corner, you'll need to create either a card for a grad or a dad and post your creation in a link so I can download them to the blog with your comment here! Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see your creations!Hmm, maybe everyone that submits a card idea and signs my guest book, will get a little sweet surprise! I like that! Okay, be sure to email me your real name and snail mail addresses too so I can select one winner of the actual **sweet stuff** and everyone that plays will get a lil' bit of sweet just for submitting...crazy but fun! I love it! Check back for the winner!

Sistahs

Hey everyone! What a long and tiring day for me! Did ya know that my work days start at 3:00 a.m.?? Nuts huh!? I get myself ready, make sure my work bag is packed (this is the bag I take to work everyday with the same things almost every day that I cannot live without) and then I pack my coffee cup and food (breakfast and lunch) and then I either go to my work room to make cards or go online and check my email, blog and leave for work at 5:40 a.m. on the bus. haha...tired already and I haven't even started the real work!
Now that I'm getting ready to leave on a short trip, it's sure hard work! I'm too tired to create a card tonight, so...just thought I'd share a couple of pics here. Here's a pic of me and my big sister Cheryl in the back yard with all of Dad's roses and a pic of my kitty, Midori, in the yard trying to hid behind a rose pot. She's kind of blending in with that pot.

I hope I don't go into withdrawals blogging while I'm away...maybe I'll borrow a computer to check on how you guys are doing in the grad and dad department (hint, hint)...I'll miss you guys!
I won't be blogging tomorrow night because I'll be having my nails done and my hair. I do have to mention that these appointments are my regular nail & hair appointments and not because I'm going on this trip! I say this because my husband commented on this. He said, "you're only going to be gone for five days!" Doesn't he know that looking nice to go craft store shopping is a must?? haha! Do I sound tired? I am...and it's getting late, time to go to sleep...nighty nite ladies!

Happy Birthday to you....

Happy Birthday!! I just HAD to create a special card for one of my bestest friends, right hand gal, paper cutter, kit maker - you all know who she is - Wini!! Happy Birthday lady! You'll be surprised because I haven't given you your card yet, but here it is! I decided to do a 3-D one because I bought a TON of these containers and did nothing with them!! Here's what I started out with...

Then, I created and came up with this...(and I must add that seeing these cute bees on other blogs lately have sparked my idea). What do you think??
The bandaid size can is from Provo Craft. Those cans and the **Have a fabulous birthday** sentiment can be found at J's Knicknacks. The bee stamps are from Stampendous and the "bling" (on the tab) is from TLC (thanks Jayme!) I also used the round tab punch by SU and the sentiment *Happy Birthday* is also from SU from a set called "Amazing to Zany". That set was a pain to cut and assemble but it is worth it! Love those little words! I used Basic Grey paper to cover the can and also used old olive and ruby red CS. The grosgrain ribbon is certainly celery by SU and the olive organdy ribbon is from Ben Franklin.
Off to work (it's 5:30 a.m.!!)

Do you like the add ons???

Just wanted to send a big MA-HAA-LO (thank you) to sistah Jen for the assistance in helping me add on the **my weather** and ** date and time** to my blog...LOVE IT!!! Now all you blog sisters checking out the blog know what the weather is like in Waimanalo and also what day it is and the time!

Here's a pic of Mr. Cyrus (Jen's son) working the Cuttlebug machine. I think he's the youngest CB user and a **cutie** I might add...

Graduation Cards

It's that time again - Graduation! Here are a few cards that I made. The first card is just a simple one, I think appropriate for a guy.

I love how this card looks so elegant with the black and gold. The large flower is a Sizzix die and the smaller flower is the SU daisy punch flower.

I made this card for

Cheryl to give to her niece. I added a **bling** to the tassel, love it! I also used the cuttlebug for the background. Speaking of Cheryl, last week when we went to lunch, we decided to go to her hubby's shop "J's Knicknacks" to check out all of the new sizzix...I made a little dent in my checkbook (bad, bad!) but I bought some great stuff! Have you guys seen the Bazzill Bling papers? Very nice. It has a sheen to it. I bought a bunch and will try to make them into those mini scrapbooks. We'll see if I fit that project into my schedule!

Here's a pic of me and Cheryl at J's...check it out sometime and tell the owner (cheryl's hubby, cliff) that you saw our pic on my blog...maybe he might swing you a deal...

Where Have I been?

Wow! seems like there is not enough time to blog and that it's turning into a weekly thing..oh well, with a full-time job, family stuff, workshops, scrapping and stamping - ya think there'd be a tiny window for my blog! I love blogging but I had to take a overview of my priorities...I'm such a sucker and can easily get **swayed** into just staying on the computer and doing nothing else!!
Okay, nuff about why I haven't posted. I almost forgot to share with you the beautiful and colorful May Day program called **Children of this World** put on by the children of Enchanted Lake Elementary School. My son is in the 6th grade and the whole 6th grade acted as the royal court with king, queen, prince and princesses! My son was voted to be the Prince of the island of Moloka'i and here he is along with the princess and attendants. Here's also a pic of the Queen and her princesses It's so coloful - each island is represented by a specific color and it was so pretty to see all of the colors along with the beautiful flowers. I took this opportunity to take pics of all of the kids in Nolan's class because it is a tradition of mine to do a scrapbook for the teacher as her end of the school year gift. This year is special because it's Nolan's last year at Enchanted Lake and we just love his teacher, Mrs. Gallagher. Each child will write their own message to the teacher next to their photo, then I turn it into a scrapbook. I'll keep you posted when I'm done.
Yesterday was my Post Cruise Party - thanks to all who attended. I think everyone enjoyed themselves as we haven't had a chance to socialize (talk story!) since I left for the cruise!! I was so busy socializing (miss aloha) that I totally forgot to take pics of the event! But, here's a pic of the rest of what the free make 'n take looked like. I posted the cover of the mini scrapbook earlier. I'm giving this completed book to my cousin Pam. The photos in this book is of when she and her family visited us in November. Matt (her son) and Nolan are the same age. Matt slept overnight and the boys had blast when we went to the beach! Then, we met them at Ryan's for dinner (Ward Center). Here is a pic of her husband Horst and their daughter Alyssa (cutie!). I'm leaving on Friday night to visit them for five days in California...(San Fran area)...Can't wait to shop at Michaels and JoAnns!! I'll post pics when I return!

I also worked like crazy to "try" to do my cruise scrapbook (you can all stop laughing now!) ...I stayed up til 12:30 am (Friday night or actually early Saturday morning) to do some...I didn't even make a dent in scrapping! (I was really in denial). But here is one of my favorite pages so far. It's a page of the desserts...yum!! I took a pic of alot of desserts and didn't want to make page after page after page of desserts, so....I saw this really cool page idea on the cruise...the gal made a flip book (no Jen, not filipino - haha!) on her page. I must say, it turned out pretty cool and it is so far my fave page. I'll post a slide show when I'm all done. I had four hours of sleep because I had to rise early since Nolan participated in the Speech Festival this year. My son the procrastinator (hmm, wonder where he gets it from???) kept forgetting to bring home his poem to practice and memorize, so for this whole past week, I've been getting on his back to practice, practice, practice...and I'm proud to say, he did very well. It was a really long poem called "Colonel Fazackerlay". After the event was over, we rushed home to set up for my post cruise party...I slept very well last night!
Well, I'm signing off for now so I can cook some dinner.

Post Cruise Party!

As promised, finally...my post cruise party! I will be having a party at my home this Saturday, May 19, 2007 to show off the wow! swaps I received as well as reveal my June scrapbook class dates (I'm extending the celebration of scrapbook month into June!) ... and the best part of all, the FREE make 'n take! Here's a sneak peek of the front cover of what attendees will be making...I love it! This party will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. so stop on by anytime between those hours to check us out! Email me if you think you might be coming so that I have enough kits for this make 'n take. Bring a friend if you'd like! See you all on Saturday!

Weekend scrapping with Cheryl

This past weekend, I spent most of the day at Cheryl's house as we planned to do this make 'n take kit that was designed by a talented Sizzix designer. I just LOVE it! This scrapbook consists of five diecut envelopes, embellished with sizzix dies, rub-ons, clear stamps and adhesives by xyron. So fast to make. Only reason why we took sooooo long to make it was because Cheryl is going to a tutorial on this project so that YOU can duplicate this cool scrapbook! I'll let you know when this tutorial is out so you can check it out! This tutorial will be posted on J's Knicknacks (Time to Scrap) as all of the materials you will need to make this cute scrapbook can be found there! Thanks Cheryl, for letting me make one of these!! Now, gotta find pics to put in it!

Recipe swap with Jen

I can't believe I finished my swap on time! In fact, I'm early! I guess it's not really "done" until I get it to Jen, huh?! Well, here it is! I love this set "Voila!". I've been eyeing this set for a while, but didn't have anything in mind to scrap to match this set. Well, every night while on the cruise, I keep seeing our waiter, Beni, carrying trays, and so...I ordered this set! I love it! Do you think this looks too busy with all of the different colors? Comments appreciated!

Big Idea - Mother's Day and Graduation!

Well, my Big ideas are starting to flow again! Probably because I went to sleep early for a couple of nights now. Lack of that beauty sleep probably contributed to the lack of idea flow...
Well, it's Mother's Day weekend so I created these cute cards to send to a couple of friends and of course mom! Used my swirl CB background and the cat and dog dies. Also used the scallop punch and SU stitched ribbon. Paper is a combo of SU and Wild Asparagus. I loved how they turned out!

Then, started to think about graduation, which is right around the corner. Here's what I came up with. The first one used the grad cap from QK and of course the stamp from SU's Warmest Regards set. Papers are a combo of SU and Bazzill and of course the mini brads. This looks like a serious card. For those of you who know me, I like the whimsical designs, so I just had to make a fun card. I chose this chick stamp from Whipper Snapper and actually, this stamp has a phrase "Chick with Brains" on it...I masked those guys out. I was pretty happy with those cards.

My Bellas are here! Yay!! They are so adorable. Had to, had to create something with them, so I whipped up this simple card. Love it! I'm looking for some tack 'n peel so I can use these stamps more.
Today is my dad's 87th birthday! Happy Birthday, Dad! Here's a pic of dad with his yummy ice cream cake. We ordered chinese food to celebrate.
Well, tomorrow is Friday, yay! We are going to Nolan's May Day program in the morning. He was voted to be the Prince of the island of Molokai. Not sure if he's too happy about it but we will see. These days, May Day in Hawaii has turned into a multicultural day. It used to be where all of the different classes (by grades) performed a hawaiian chant or dance. Somehow, that has changed. Now when I look back, I savor those memories of elementary school May Day celebrations, after all, living in Hawaii and for me and living in the country where I grew up with all the Hawaiian people, it's my way of island life.
I remember a bunch of blogs back where I said I was cleaning? Well, I totally forgot about blogging about my **freebies**...will take a pic and post the goodies tomorrow. It'll give me time to think about whatcha need to do to get the sweets!

I took a detour

Remember when I posted that I was going to work on my recipe swap?? I typed up the recipe, but then, oh-oh, I took a detour and made a folder birthday card instead! I used papers from the 3 bugs in a rug collection (shop at Jen's store) and the "m" came from SU's on board simon lower letters. I colored the letter using a sponge dauber and a old olive ink pad. I used the cute monkeys from my cuttlebut dies...so cute, this monkey!! Just had to share this with you. I wil work on my recipe swap soon!! I'm kinda anxious as I want to use the Voila! stamp set that I just got in! Have a fab Monday!

Keeping up...

I always like to start my day by checking in on my blogging sisters...gotta see what's up! Cheryl is giving away a Autumn Leaves book if you can guess what her hubby is doing in the pic. I made a guess, but also had other ideas than the one I posted. Hey Cheryl, what day of the week did you take that pic??

Jen is having her Retirement Party with all of the retiring SU stamp sets! Sounds like a fabulous gathering ladies!

Today I have to work on my recipe swap that I have with Jen. We're doing Appetizer pages and my appetizer is Pizza Skins. Too bad I missed out on the other recipes...well, better late than never. I'll post my finished page soon...Have a fab Sunday ladies!

Playing catch up...

Oops! Did you all get this post already? Well if you did, SORRY! I hit the publish button before I was finished!! Here's the **real** post.

This blog is kind of a journal for me and when I don't get to post for a bunch of days, wow! I get all backed up! There is just so much to share with you and there is just never enough time to get on the computer and blog the night (or day) away! Just had to share stuff with you all, so I will do a **catch up** blog... Just had to share these cute 3X3 cards we made during my lunch date with Darcie and Jean last Monday. We try to get together once a month (if our work permits us!) to bounce off ideas and then share a project. Here's what we made courtesy of Jean. Love the pink and brown color theme! Jean is a CTMH consultant. Check out her blog and her awesome ideas!

April flew right past us didn't it?? I didn't get to share with you our Secretaries Day luncheon. This year our wonderful bosses sent us to a new restaurant called Kyoto Ohsho over at Ala Moana Shopping Center Third Floor...it's a Japanese buffet. Now for those of you who personally know me, you know how MUCH I can eat (hehe) but I really did eat over my capacity (for real) and was stuffed! So stuffed that I didn't eat dinner that night...I guess you can say I ate two meals at lunch (talk about saving $). My supervisor Peggy had special treatment when she asked the cook for **hot** shrimp tempura...he made some especially for her and even delivered it to our table! She didn't think he was going to make a special order for her, so she just took what was on the counter...all in all, she ate 11 shrimp! Well, Kristen and I helped her out, right Kris? (I know you're reading this ) It's usually just the four of us secretaries that go out to lunch being that the office is so small, someone has to stay back to answer the phones and help the public! Here's a few pics from that wonderful luncheon!! Thank you to our generous bosses!!

Here I am at my favorite section - desserts! I couldn't resist the chocolate fountain...they had bananas, marshmallows and strawberries to dip...yummy!!
I didn't get to share with you the piles 'n piles of work I had accummulated when I left for my cruise did I?? As you can see, I needed the bulldozer this time around, forget that shovel! Scary huh?? Well, the truth is that this is just a spare desk and these files are ready to be shipped off to storage (not ours, right Kris??) But really, I do love my job!

Oh, Peggy celebrated her birthday on May Day (May 1st), so here is the card I made for the girls to give to her. First time using my cuttlebug embossing folder. They are so fun to use! I don't own a CB machine, but I managed to use this small folder in my sidekick machine. Peg loves cats so had to use these dies. Also used the long notes by SU...what do you think?? I colored these images with ink pad and sponge and the craziest part of all is that I made this card 20 mins before I ran outside to catch the bus to go to work! Nothing like getting stressed out and **awake** before you get to the office!!
Finally, today is National Scrapbook Day! Unfortunately, I didn't get to scrap at all! But it's also Boy's Day and we did manage to hang up Nolan's fishes. These fish are 11 years old and are falling apart. I guess next year, we will need to invest in a new set.
Will try to do another post tomorrow. I'm determined to do some kind of project! Tah-tah for now! Hope you are all having a marvelous weekend!

Sharing the cruise with you!

Wow!, can't believe it's been **days** since I last posted...I guess we can all relate to having a **busy** week!! But, TGIF!!! Lots going on this month that'll keep me even busier - really sad because I miss blogging and sharing with all of you!! In the meantime, while you're waiting for me to break out new ideas, you can now check out my slide show of photos from my cruise! Let me know here what you think! If you are a demonstrator and was thinking about trying to earn the cruise, you should go for it! You won't be disappointed! Unfortunately, I didn't earn it for 2008 (Bermuda), but Shelli unveiled to us on the cruise that in 2009, the incentive trip will be to Hawaii (that is the big island) and the marvelous events will take place at the Waiakaloa Resort! Wow! I'm sure there will be all kinds of goodies! The best part? For us island girls, no long flights, affordable to take the whole family!! If you want to know more, email me! Happy Friday everyone! National Scrapbook Day is tomorrow, May 5th! Also, Boy's Day and Cinco de Mayo! Hugs 'n kisses to all! P.S. My Bellas are on it's way! Yipee!!
