Rock the Farm Cutie and the inside of the noteholder

Happy Aloha Friday!! I received this really cute card from a new island girlfriend, Ilissa. We met through my monthly one card swap. Ilissa finally took the plunge and started a blog too. If you have some time, hop on over to show some aloha! I love this cute GF image from the Rock the Farm set! The colors are so pretty too! Thanks so much Ilissa!! Thank you all for the sweet comments on my noteholder that I still feel that I bombed on making...I have to have it perfect, just some dumb thing that I put upon myself. Anyway, here is what the inside looks like. I like the idea of the two acetate pockets.

The problem was that I measured incorrectly and the gap on the bottom of the holder is kind of too much when it closes. Can you see it here? I'm working on fixing it up before sharing the measurements. It was a fun project to make though. I'll have to find some time to fix it up. I'll post the perfect one sometime soon!
Thanks for stopping by today! I had a little detour in my plans as I was supposed to be emailing the partners for the August OCS last night. It is coming because I have everyone partnered up and ready to email!! Looking forward to seeing you ladies who signed up for my sold out classes this weekend! If you ordered a kit, they will be completed this weekend too.

Card holder bomb

I'm still experimenting in making cute little card holders to give as gifts. I tried my hand at making a larger holder and it bombed. I wasn't satisfied with the way it turned out, mostly on the inside. It was a little too large, like there was a gap between the two pockets inside. I didn't take a photo of it because it was so ugly to me. Anyway, just wanted to share that a project that didn't turn out the way I envisioned it. The one thing I did like was the SU DP and the cute bird stamp from a set called Cheap Talk, one of my favorites and of course, my favorite colors! Happy Thursday! We are almost to the weekend!! Thanks for stopping by today! I love to hear what you think of my projects!! XO

A Thank You Card

I made this card a couple of weeks ago and forgot to post it. This was a thank you card for Janis. Janis is one of my newest downline members for my group called Stamping With Friends. Almost every month when she comes to class, she brings delicious treats for us to eat! I just wanted to send a card to show her my appreciation for her thoughtfulness.
I got this cute Mermaid Emna stamp from Cute Stuff. This image is by CC Designs Sugar Plums series. So cute, yeah? DP is from J's, and is actually one of my larger scraps! Sentiment is by SU and rhinestones I received as a rak. Here's a closer look.

Happy Wednesday! The weekend is almost here! I'm still getting ready for my classes!
Be sure to check back here on Saturday! I'll be giving away some fun blog candy for my birthday!

A Card for Sherri from Mary B. - Sharing OCS

ETA: Oops!! I made a mistake! This card was the card Sherri made for Mary B. Such a pretty card Sherri! Looking forward to seeing more of everyone's awesome creations for the August OCS!!

Oh my, I totally forgot to post this card for Sherri M.. She asked that I post this card that she received from Mary B. through my monthly one card swap. Both of these ladies do not have blogs. Thanks Sherri for sharing the card you received. Be on the look out for your emails with your partners this week!

Grateful for Friends!

Here are the raks that I received from the girls that came to play at Denise's house yesterday. Talk about overwhelmed! Holy macaroni! Thank you sooo much for all of the lovely raks! It was like Christmas! It really makes one feel so special to have friends share their talent with you. This post will be a little long because I want to show you each and every rak I received. It would truly be a waste to not show off the talent that this group has, so without further delay, here are the raks! Thanks again girls!

Michelle also made me this sweet card. I love the image and the color combo is really nice!! Love the texture she used for the card, I believe they are the texture plates (not CB emboss folders). Thank you so much!

One Card Swap - CLOSED!

Oops!! I just realized that I did not give a deadline to sign up for the August one card swap! So as of tonight, the swap is officially closed! I will need some time to match everyone up! We had alot of players sign up, so be patient! I will be emailing you with all of the info real soon!!
Note: This cute double shaker box card was made during one of my lunch time class special...had fun girls??

Fun Play Day!

Today, some of the island girl's blogging sisters met at Denise's house for a fun play day! Soooooo much fun it was! Exchanging RAKS and stamping images, eating, laughing...thanks ladies! Sorry I had to leave a little early, I was bummed, but had so much to do this afternoon! Well, I decided to post the rak that I made for everyone today... I made a little note holder. Inside, I made a small acetate tray to hold some 3X3 cards and tags. Made my own background using the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. Everyone had their note holder in their favorite color.

Here's a side view of the holder. I will be posting a mini tutorial on how to make this. Here's a photo of all of us. Thanks for a fun time ladies! Thanks Denise for hosting this gathering for us!
I will be posting all of my wonderful raks that I received from the ladies all this week! Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Monday!

Belated Birthday Wishes for Jodi

I'm so ashamed of being behind on my birthday card making! I have no stash to fall back on! My sweet friend, Jodi celebrated her birthday earlier this month and I finally made her a card and had Eric deliver the card and gift to her house while she was at work. I wanted to surprise her when she drove up after work! Since I really enjoyed making that tri-shutter card, I saw a different version where the front panel was solid, so I thought I'd give it a try. Here's the card I made for Jodi! This cutie image is from the Gorjuss Girls #3 set. Isn't she sweet? The DP is a leftover piece (thank goodness it was a large scrap!). The butterfly punch dressed up the card as I needed to embellish it up!Here's what the card looks like opened up. This time, I framed all of the little pieces. I like this finished look better.

I missed the deadline last night to get this for posting today, but that's okay. I was busy making a bunch of raks for the gals that are going to Denise's house today for a play date...good thing I made my brownies last night! Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday! Thanks for your visit!

Just for Fun

For those of you who've known me for a long time, know that one of my businesses was hand painting t-shirts. I did this for about 9 years before I gave up. Anyway, my designs were primarily these stick figure kids. The other week as I was stamping and coloring, I had a funny thought pop into my head and I said, why not...just for fun, I'm gonna draw one of my characters, color it and make a card..Voila! here it is! I kind of like the way it turned out. I also found out that drawing it out using a fine point sharpie pen and then coloring them with copic pens are not a good combination because the ink bled a little. This was just for fun anyway, so we'll see if I feel like drawing more. Here's a close up...don't look too good, you might see my smudges...haha!

Thanks for your visit today. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I'm feeling better and told myself to go to bed early!! Still working on my class kits and updating my one card swap list!
Let me know what you think of my little girl here...I'd love to get feedback.

My Card for Tia

Sorry my post is late today. Yesterday at work I started to not feel well and it started with my ears being plugged for a couple of days. After lunch, I felt nausea (yuck!) and then felt woozy - I felt dizzy. All I could think of was that I was getting symptoms of vertigo. I felt much better today when I woke up but still not 100% so I went to the doctor. He said I didn't have an ear infection, but it was some form of vertigo called BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO. You can read about it HERE. Interesting because I'm sure we all have suffered from it at one time or another and if you haven't, you are lucky! It is a really common thing! Anyway, I wanted to make sure that Tia received my card before I posted it and ruin the surprise. I wish I could make a double shaker for everyone that I get partnered with, but it just depends. Some months I have more time than others. Anyway, here is the card that I made. Don't you just love these cute images?? They are called Pure Innocence and they are digi stamp characters created by a gal named Heather (United Kingdom). I ordered them through her etsy store. I had to buy them all! There are 7 girl images. Cute huh! I used one of my precious crochet flowers that Elena hand crocheted. I was one of the lucky recipients of some! (Thanks again, Elena!). Here's a close up...

The DP for the outer box is from Cute Stuff as well as the micro beads. The inside DP is from SU (retired). Green combo dew drops are from Tamikos. Sentiment is from SU as well as the scallop oval and oval punches. Bling from J's. Speaking of J's...they are having a make and take tomorrow, Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will be making a Sizzix peek-a-boo box! How fun!
Thanks for coming by today, and Happy Aloha Friday!! See you tomorrow!

Twenty

That's 20 years. Yesterday was my 20th wedding anniversary and I didn't get to post my card because I only finished it before I left for work. I had the idea floating in my head but ran out of time doing other things - the story of my life! Anyway, I can't believe that it's been 20 years already, how time flies! Here's the card I made for Eric. Of course, I used my favorite color, pink! I miss pink pirouette - this is the textured 12X12 cardstock. I had it cut in half so decided to make it a tri-fold type of card. I used my square nesties (melon mambo for the scallop square), colored using my copics. Ribbon is soft suede.

Here's what it looks as you open it.
And here is the inside - nothing fancy.
I had to hold the card closed to get this shot, so my thumb is in the photo...
We actually went out to dinner last night. We've had this gift certificate for almost two years (gasp!) to Pinky's restaurant over at Aikahi . It was very good and boy, was that place crowded! Sorry, no photo...rushed when I came home to get ready to leave.
Thanks for coming by today. See you tomorrow!!
Supplies:
Cardstock: pink pirouette (retired), kraft, melon mambo, chocolate chip
Accessories: square nestabilities
Stamp sets: Love Owl ways, A Happy Heart

August Class Sign Up!

Change of class projects! The project scheduled for my August class was supposed to be a pull out scrapbook, but at my July class, alot of the ladies wanted to make this box of animals that I posted the other week. So, the August class will be creating this cute box of animals with 3 cards with envelopes and 5 tags with cord. It's really a fun project and makes a great gift. The classes are scheduled for Saturday, August 1 and Sunday August 2 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at my home. The class fee is $20 and includes all of the materials needed to complete this cute gift set. I request that you bring your own tool kit - meaning all of the tools you use when you craft. Please be sure that you have a portable trimmer (like Fiskars) with both cutting and scoring blades. Have lots of adhesive too because I do not have any extra. I will be making 20 kits only, and reservations for these 2 classes will be on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to attend this class, please RSVP via email (addy on my side bar). Reservations will be accepted up to Friday, July 24 as I will need time to prep all of the kits. Please feel free to email me with questions and I look forward to crafting with you in August!

A Cute Lion

I made this card for my GF Jean, who made a quilt that I ordered as a birthday gift for my sister. Jean is a CTMH Consultant who is now into making beautiful quilts! To see this beautiful quilt creation, please check out Jean's blog post HERE.
So, I wanted to make her this thank you card, yes, another card I had to whip up, but did this in the evening, so no running for a bus, thank goodness! When Jean gave me the latest CTMH catty, I fell in love with this set of zoo animals. This lion tugged at my heart and I just had to buy this set...I used my copic pens to color him. I thought the coloring turned out pretty good. Used my square nesties to frame the image and added some bling on the corners. The Thank You sentiment is from SU from a set called Much Appreciated.
Your comments are much appreciated so I thank you! Stop by again tomorrow. I'll be announcing my sign ups for the August class!

The Life of a Cat

I know that this is not a crafty post, but I just wanted to share. Sometimes I wish I could live the life of my cat for maybe just one day...she seems to know how to relax and enjoy life. These photos weren't all taken on the same day but can you tell where Mochiko's favorite place to relax?? Maybe she crafts during the night when I sleep and that's why she's so tired during the day? Haha!! Such a crazy thought. My dad says that she can't stand to not be near me and needs to sit on my table while I create. I think there's some truth to that, but who really knows?! I'm sharing some of my latest favorite shots of Mochiko...

Such a perfect space for her head...
I think she love sleeping on my cutter the most because she uses the handle to rest her head.
Thanks for tolerating my cat post. Since my son is 14 now, she's my new baby :) I'm posting a cute Thank You card next!

Another quick Ketto card. I have to stop doing this!

Hey! how did Monday get here so fast! I never seem to have enough time to create a stash of cards for me to use...I just can't do it! Don't know why but I always seem to be rushing and behind on making thank you cards or just because cards...so...here we go again, rushing to make another card. I'm making good use of my already colored Ketto images. This card was made for my sweet cousin, Pam who lives in San Fran. I had to make a card and write something in it to go in the box I sent to her the other week. Of course, this card, too, was made before leaving for work. I swear I will miss my bus one of these days! I guess I like living on the edge - but I'm getting too old for this rushing business! I used the leftover scrap from my card and gifts for my GF Cheryl - love this pink leopard print that I got from Pineapple Cove! Thank goodness I had already cut out this black rectangle using my nesties. I couldn't find the right sentiment, so went back to the computer to type "blessed" using the SU font called SU KP Quick...I love this font! Added a flower bling that I got from a Hero Arts mini stamp set with bling. I chose the word "blessed" because that's the word that comes to mind to describe how I feel to have a wonderful cousin like Pam!

Thanks to all of you for coming today for a visit! I've been enjoying blurfing and visiting your blogs too! See you again tomorrow!!

August One Card Swap Sign up!

It's that time again!! Time to sign up for August's one card swap! I'm so thrilled that this swap is continuing as I've received many beautiful and creative cards, not to mention making new friends too! Here's my card that I received from my friend Tia for the July OCS! I love everything about this Tilda card! Tia added alot of bling on the scallops...can't really tell if they are dew drops or rhinestones - but they really add to the card!! Her coloring is perfect-o and this image is way too cute! Love the DSP she used - retired from SU but the cherries on the DSP match Tilda's sock! Thanks Tia, for such a pretty card! Your card is in the mail!! I won't be posting the card until after Tia receives it as to not spoil the surprise! If you are interested in joining us for August's one card swap, please leave a comment on this post. If you are a returning player, you do nothing else but wait til the sign ups are closed. I will match you up with a partner and send you an email with all of the info. If you are a new player, in addition to posting a coment to play, send me an email (email on right sidebar) with your full name, mailing address, email address and blog address if you have one. Effective August, I will now be including blog addresses, if you have one, in the information that I share with your partner.
Some info for new players - this is a one card swap, no other goodies or raks should be sent with your card, just the card. This swap was started because some people want to trade cards and ideas and not be obligated to send anything else but the card...make your card special! You're only making one! You can write a nice note inside of the card to your partner, but you don't have to if you don't want to. Your card creation is not limited to any one company - use what you have and be creative! I love looking at everyone's creations! Thanks to all of you who participate and for making this swap a success! I am looking forward to lots of players!

A Purple Owl! So cute!

I'm not really into alot of punch art, but while thumbing through one of my Stampin' Success magazines, I came across this cute owl made up of all Stampin' Up! punches! This awesome creation was submitted to an art contest by Lyssa Zwolanek of Watertown, Wisconsin. Soooo cute! I knew I wanted to make one of these cuties! I'm not sure if Lyssa has a blog or not, but just wanted to acknowledge her for the inspiration! The punches used are: Round Tab (owl face), scallop circle (cut in half to make the wings), 1 3/8" circle (body), 5 petal flower (cut to make the beak), Trio Flower (feet), half inch and 1/4" circle punches (eyes). I typed the sentiment on my computer (David Walker font that I bought from 2 Peas) and punched it out using the large oval punch and layering it using the scallop oval punch.
I attached this cute owl on my french fry box (an XL Sizzix die) using some cute DP that I bought from Pineapple Cove (at Kahala Mall). I made 2 of these boxes to thank 2 of my special friends - Linda and Kyoko! They are some of the most generous ladies out there, always caring, always sharing and I just had to make a special thank you for them...their favorite color is purple and I must say that this owl looks pretty cute in purple, don't you think??
Lots to do today...want to start cutting kits for my August class (announcement in tomorrow night's post) and possibly start working on my 50 Christmas tag class coming up in September!!
I'm so glad that you stopped by and shared a little bit of your day with me!
One last thing...if you live on Oahu and want to find a good bargain, J's is having 30% off sale on all Cuttlebug & Just Rite products! Stop on by to say HI to Cliff! Also, C2F is having their warehouse sale - great price on mono adhesive! See you tomorrow!

Thoughtful gift

My GF Denise comes to all of my monthly classes and always brings me something sweet! Denise just came back from Vegas and was sick, sick, sick - poor thing! I can't believe that she still managed to shop for little gifts to share with her friends...you are so sweet!! Love this owl stamp and of course, my favorite Bath & Body lotion (Pink too!!). Thank you for being so thoughtful and I am glad that you feel better! I created a thank you card for Denise using this cute owl stamp, but didn't take a photo of it...I guess you'll just have to check out Denise's blog to get a glimpse of it if and when she posts it!

Ketto Card

A while back, I stamped and colored a whole sheet of these cute Ketto images in all different colors. I'm so glad I did because it came in handy when I needed to make card in a hurry. Here's a card I put together before running for the bus. I know I am crazy! I used a scrap piece which was leftover from the double shaker box that I made for Christy. I just love that eyelet border punch and this color combo was a first for me, but I really loved the way it turned out! The stamp "Sweet!!" is a stampendous stamp. Happy Aloha Friday! Hope you have some grand crafty plans for the weekend!! Thanks for coming to visit today!

The bonus!

I try to do a bonus project for the attendees of my class. I revised that little note holder that I posted the other week. The only difference is that there is no ribbon. The flap is held with a piece of velcro. Saturday's class made their holder using Melon Mambo. Sunday's class used Dusty Durango... Here's what it looks like inside...

I am loving these new in-colors! Thanks for stopping by today! See you again tomorrow!

July Class - The last three

Here are the last three cards that we made this past weekend. This first card is such a real fun card to make. It's called a double slider card and what makes this card slide is a strip of plastic from a grocery bag! Yup! a piece about 12 inches long cut from a plastic bag. If you would like to try to make one of these cool cards, you can follow along on a video that I followed by Dawn Griffith. Her blog is called Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. Dawn is the video tutorial queen! Check out the video to make use this technique HERE! Here's what the card looks like when you pull on the ribbon. The top and bottom messages comes right out! Pretty cool, huh!

I love these animals from the set called Animal Stories. The flowers are all from the Garden Greetings set. Inks are pink passion, old olive and pumpkin pie. The giraffe was stamped with Melon Mambo ink. I used the
This next card uses the stamp off technique where you stamp the image and then without reinking the stamp, stamp off to the side of your already stamped image. This creates a shadow.
Here's the inside of the card...
This is the last card, another Sympathy card. This color combo is a pretty one...Bermuda Blue and Creamy Caramel. I used the ticket punch for the corners on this card front.
Here's the inside...
I'll post the bonus project tomorrow! We had so much fun. Thank you all who made it to this month's class and also to those who ordered kits! I can't believe that both classes were full! Thank you all for your support! I am working on August and the big September 50 Christmas Tag class...so please stay tuned and come back to see the announcement for these classes.

July Class Projects - first three

This month's class was a card class. We made 2 thinking of you cards, 2 thank you cards and 2 sympathy cards. I'm posting 3 of the 6 cards that we made.
This first card is a thinking of you card and uses the new in-color cardstock Dusty Durango. We stamped color on color using the set Circle Circus. The chocolate chip strip was wound through a crimper and we stamped and cut out the butterfly from the Simple Friendship set. The butterfly was stamped in Kiwi Kiss, which just retired, but I just had to use it! The sentiment came from a level 3 hostess set called Kind and Caring Thoughts and was punched out using the wide oval punch. We did the gatefold for this sympathy card and this in-color is called Crushed Curry. This color is a bit strong, but was toned down using barely banana and chocolate chip. I kind of like this color combo. I used the eyelet border punch to add a bit of softness to the card. The flower on the front of the card is also from the Kind and Caring Thoughts set.

Here's what the card looks like opened. Both sentiments are from Thoughts and Prayers. I stamped the flower in the middle of the verse inside of the card using So Saffron ink.
I love this tree from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set. Added little rhinestones to the branches. This in-color is called Soft Suede. The frame around the image is the new in-color called Rich Razzleberry. I really like these new in-colors. The ribbon is also new and is the new in-color called Bermuda Blue. You can get this ribbon in all of the new in-colors.
The sentiment is from the set called Oval All and fits perfectly in the scallop oval punch. I had to make a small slit on the left side of the card on the fold so that the ribbon can be inserted through.
I'll be posting the other 3 cards tomorrow, so don't forget to come back to see them!! I'll also post my bonus project for attendees!

OMG! how can this be??

I know what you guys are thinking, that I'm such a little brat! But I tell ya, I feel like the luckiest girl around! Got this sweet rak from my GGF Joy. She really spoils me to bits! This gift was to thank me for helping her with 35 party favors that we made in like one day...talk about being pumped up to do a project! We jammed, yeah Joy? Glad it turned out really nice and that Nan was happy with it. Thank you so much for my beautiful card and for the cute custom sized box with Dandelion stamps!! I love it! At class on Saturday, I received this yummy rak from Jenny. She cut out the Hello Kitty in vinyl using her cricut machine. So clever! This container is super cool cuz it locks in the freshness of these yummy furikake mix. Not to worry though because these treats were gone in a heartbeat! Love that it's pesonalized too! I love my card too! It was embossed with the HK embossing folders and she added dew drops to it too! Thanks Jenny!! See you on the 26th at D's! BTW, if you need party invitations or favors done, Jenny is the one to see. She has so many orders for these cute invitations!

Got this cute box from my GF Joyce. This is one of the latest xclusive Sizzix dies by SU. I can't wait to get this die! I was really excited to get this box that I didn't even realize that there was something inside! Haha, so lo-lo yeah? Thank you!! I love these chick stands...Joyce, I used the one you gave me last year to death! Thank you for thinking of me, so sweet of you!!
Last, but definately not least - with no photo though...Thank you to Irene for the ink refill for my Memento ink pad and for the of papers! Holy smokers Irene! I love the metallic look of the papers! Thank you so much for thinking of me!!
I have the sweetest friends!! I really need to start making some thank you cards for everyone...I guess I'll need to take a blog break soon so I can get more stuff done, huh...we'll see. Maybe I can pull off doing it all....
Thank you once again, ladies, for spoiling me rotten! You make me feel so special!

Easy bookmark

While reading my Stampin' Success magazine (a publication for SU demonstrators), I came across instructions to make easy peasy book markers. It's so easy, I whipped this one up in 5 minutes, no kidding! I love the sock monkey, he's just too cute! I thought that this would make a great little addition if you are giving a book for a gift, or if you just want to make a whole bunch of them and bag them up for a gift for a friend who likes to read? Anyhoo, I did a short tutorial for you just in case you wanted to make some! Start off with a 4x4 or 5X5 piece of cardstock or DP. I used chocolate chip CS for my bookmark.

Score the square at 2" then turn and score 2" again
Your piece should now look like this. Can you see the score lines?
Now, cut away 1 of the squares like this:

Put some adhesive on one of the squares (as shown)
Adhere as shown:
This is the finished bookmark! Easy 5 minutes, right??
Here's my bookmark on one of my favorite books! I hope you try this out, it was so much fun to make!
Supplies:
Cardstock: chocolate chip, baseful blue, old olive
stamp: sock monkey
ink: chocolate chip, green copic marker
accessories: scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches, chocolate chip stampin write marker (for dots on the scallops), dimensionals.
Thanks for your visit today and for always leaving me sweet comments. They are appreciated!

A Thank You for Elena

I was blurfing a couple of weeks ago and stumbled across yet another island girl's blog. This blog was called Bearsaurus...addicted to crafts. Elena posted her beautiful crochet flowers that she hand crocheted! She was offering free flowers to the first 10 people and yippee! I was was one of them. So I was so happy to receive not one, but 2 bags of flowers and also some crochet butterflies as well, ahh...so talented. THANK YOU Elena! Here is my thank you card to Elena. This Tri-shutter card has been very popular in blogland lately, so of course, I had to try one. This is one of the projects that Joy and I did on the 4th,. I had to use this new stamp that I bought from Cute Stuff...this stamp is called Mermaid Emma and is from CC Design's Sugar Plum series. Sooo cute! The cute sea animals DP is also from Cute Stuff, just love it! The rest of the DP are scraps from my huge stash of scraps!
Here's the close up...

The bling and pearls are from Pineapple Cove. They are having a sale this whole weekend...up to 60% off. These blings are on sale too and I think they come out to less than $2/card...go get some!
Hey, thanks for stopping in today. I appreciate all of your visits whether you comment or not...Happy Saturday! Gotta set up for my class today...we're gonna have fun and I can't wait to see everyone!! More tomorrow!

Three more cards

Happy Friday! No furlough day for me today, I was actually looking forward to a day off, but I do love my job!
Here are the rest of the cards that we made to go inside of this box.Boy, did we have trouble designing this card. I handed it over to Joy and here is what she came up with. So clever! a shaker card! Cute little whale and lots of beads! We used one of the tags for this card, that's why we ended up having 9 tags in the box.

Here's my least favorite card out of the 5. I started running out of ideas as it was getting later and later. I'm sure I could've come up with something better if my brain had some rest, but we just had to finish it up that night. Crazy!
Thanks for spending a part of your day on my blog. I'm glad you wanted to see the rest of these cards. Card class tomorrow and Sunday. Be sure you come back next week to check out the projects. I promise I will post them!

Hello Kitty Sizzix Dies

Hello friends! I'm sure most of you already own a whole bunch of Hello Kitty dies, but I just wanted to pass on some sightings of these HK dies...Joy and I went to Fisher today (Cooke Street) and they had lots of HK dies. They are in the scrapbooking/craft area. I saw some HK big shot machines too, but the gal said that they are planning to put them at the end cap. Soooo, if you are still looking for Hello Kitty dies they have the bigz, sizzlets, emboss. The only one that I didn't see were the strip dies (the long dies)...not to mention that the price was right, if you know what I mean (wink!). Happy Shopping!

My Sweet Friend Jodi

Jodi from Inked Inspirations is celebrating her birthday! Boy, does she know how to celebrate! We get the gifts!! If you want your chance to win the gifts, stop on over and check it out!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JODI!! Your card is almost done.

A Box of Animals!

Ever since I saw Joy and Joy made these cute boxes for teacher's gifts, I knew I wanted to make one. Joy and Taelyn spent the 4th of July at my house and boy, was it a productive day! Here's how my box turned out.
I love the new DSP by SU. This paper is called Tall Tales and it matches the stamp set called Animal Stories. I used chocolate chip CS for the base of the box bottom and old olive for the cover. The belly band finished off the box. Here's a look at all of the cards and tags we made to fill the box. It was so crazy doing this and my feet are still aching from standing for hours (I can't sit and craft!). We made 5 cards (all different) and 9 tags. The tag is a sizzix die and is not sold by SU. I just thought it was a cute tag, but I decorated it with some of the Tall Tales DSP and also stamped some of the animals from the Animal Stories stamp set.

Here are close ups of a couple of the cards. I'll post the other 3 cards tomorrow.

I used all of the new in-colors for this project. As much as I miss the old in-colors, I am really loving these new colors. If you haven't already gotten your hands on the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog and want one, please send me an email to order yours today! If you wish to place an order, please see my SU website on the sidebar. You can order 24/7!
Thanks for coming by today! I love reading your comments and they sure do brighten my day! More tomorrow!

June Class - Birthday Bash

Oops! where did this post come from?? OMG, I totally forgot to post these photos of my June class projects! Sorry ladies!
This was my birthday bash class, where we made fun projects for birthdays. The first project we made was this gift card holder using the scallop envelope die. The die, if cut just as is, does not fit a gift card, just a little short. So when I saw these instructions on Patty Bennett's blog, I new I just had to try this out. Thanks Patty!! Check out all of the wonderful ideas on Patty's blog, you won't be disappointed! I also used a Sizzix textured plate, my first time using it. It turned out not too bad. Here's what the GC holder looks like without the belly band on.

The next project was a pop-up birthday cake using the sizzix pop-up birthday cake die. Here's the card closed. I used the chef from the Voila! stamp set.
Here's what the card looks like when you open it up! The birthday cake POPs up! Kinda cool, huh! We used the textured DSP called To The Nines, which is now retired.
Here's a close-up of the cake. Last, but not least, our gift bag with tag and matching tissue. We rollered the white tissue with a jumbo roller and tempting turquoise ink cartridge. Then, we cut the circle out using the new circle scissors plus. It is such an easy circle cutting system to use. If you did not attend this class, and will be attending one soon and want to try out this circle scissors plus, please let me know. I'll be happy to let you have a try. You will love it!
If you have ordered this kit, you will be receiving it soon. I apologize for the delay. June was a difficult month for me and I apologize for the lateness in getting your kit to you. Thanks for stopping by today!

Anyone else having trouble with posting??

Good morning! For some reason, my blog posts haven't been posting as scheduled...what is going on?? Anyone else having issues with this?? I usually have my posts done for the week to ensure that I have a daily post, but for some reason, it's not working. I don't remember touching the settings or anything.
If you are experiencing issues like me, please email me!!
BTW, I had to go into my edit posts and manually post today's blog post...**sigh** - like I need another thing to worry about :0
Have a great Tuesday!

My mother taught me to always say thank you

ETA: BIG OOPS!! Thank you to LINDA (Simple & Sassy Creations) for the awesome honey bee scissors. See, so long time ago, I got mixed up. Thank you K for my secret rak...shhh, I'm not sharing that! haha!! I LOVE everything I receive and appreciate it from the tip of my toes to my heart! Love you guys!
So what is wrong with me? I totally forgot to thank Kyoko for these honey bee scissors that I received some time long ago!! Oh no! Kyoko, hope you don't think I am ungrateful or didn't like them. I guess it's because I didn't break them open yet! Thanks girl. I know my scissors are kind of ugly, that's why you got these for me. I promise I will break the wrapper open real soon, k? Also received this cute card from Claudette and forgot to post it. Love this Hula Anya and all of the extras that Claudette put on this card! It's so much cuter IRL...thanks girl, I love it!

Aahh, I commented on Jen's blog on how cute this card was and was surprised to get this cutie in MY mailbox!! Got an extra in the card too! A cute rubber stamp - gotta ink it up so I can show it to you! Thanks Jen! Receiving a card in the mail when I get home from a long day at the office really put a smile on my face!! Thanks Dahling! This card is cuter IRL!! Love it!
Last, but definately NOT least, another wonderful surprise in my mailbox! Got this cute kitty card from Denise. So sweet! I had a blah of a day and found this cheerful card in the mail and all my blah's were forgotten!! Thanks so much Denise! This brightened my night. Beautiful In-Colors and a cute note holder

ETA: Here are the measurements to make this simple note holder.
Melon mambo cardstock: 4 1/4" X 11" score at 4 1/2" and 6 1/2"
Pink pirouette inside tray: 4"X5 1/4" score 1" all around, cut a slit on each corner and join to form box. Attach to middle section of melon mambo cardstock.
Other: soft suede top note, score in half

Hello Friends! I've been MIA for a few days but I just HAD to get my act together to cut all of the kits for my class this coming Saturday and Sunday! Discipline was in order and that meant that I couldn't be on the computer at all! Tough, I tell ya! Well, in between cuttimg kits, I needed a break and I wanted to make this cute note holder with 3X3 cards. The idea started brewing when I saw the cover of the SU demonstrator publication called Stampin' Success. Well, they had a cute noteholder on the cover similar to the one I ended up creating. For some reason, I didn't like the one that I first created, so here's the one that I ended up making. I used the new in-color cardstock, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede. Love these new in-colors! By the way, my class this coming week will feature all of the new in-colors! I used a new stamp set called Circle Circus, which I almost didn't order and stamped color on color (melon mambo ink on melon mambo cardstock). Here's a side view of the note holder.

Here's what it looks like opened. It was kind of humbug to open this up because I had to cut a slit in the middle of the top note die to get the ribbon through to the top. I think I wil skip using the ribbon for the next one I make. I used a piece of velcro to hold the flap closed (and that's why I would omit the ribbon the next time).
Here are the cute 3X3 cards with envelopes that I placed inside of this holder. Let me know if you are interested in the measurements of this holder.I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July long weekend. Mine was very hectic with all of the planning and oh, there's so many things to do before the crafting can begin. Thank you for coming for a visit today! I appreciate you!

For Christy {{heart}}

I've been riding the bus for years with my good friend Cece and her grandson's mom was in a horrible accident in January. With alot of love and prayers, a miracle happened and Christy is alive and on the road to a miracle recovery! Read about Christy's journey on a blog started by a family member to keep everyone up-to-date on here HERE. This link is the first post in Gabby's blog, but you can follow along to the most recent post. Christy is a beautiful wife, mom of three and friend to many, so when Cece asked me to make a special card for her, this is what I came up with.
I used Sing from The Greetings Farm because Sing looks like an Island girl, just like Christy. And the message I {heart} you is because we all love Christy! The close up...

I picked up this DP from Pineapple Cove and am so glad I did. Blue is not my favorite color, but it's Christy's favorite.
Thanks for stopping by today. I need to run for the bus now, running late this morning!! More tomorrow!!
